Trump Flies to London For Historic Second State Visit, Will Be Fêted by Royals and Protested by Left

U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania are flying into the United Kingdom to arrive late Tuesday evening for a unprecedented second state visit, the only foreign leader to have ever been extended such a courtesy.

President Trump hailed “elegant gentleman” King Charles III before he boarded Air Force One for the transatlantic flight to the United Kingdom on Tuesday morning. The President and First lady are due to arrive around 2100 UK time before travelling to Windsor Castle to sleep the night.

This is the first time a foreign leader has ever been invited to two state visits, the last having taken place in 2019. The rationale for the double is that since 2019 there has been a break in Trump’s presidency, and the previous host, Queen Elizabeth II died with a new monarch on the throne. Unspoken but more important is the diplomacy push by London to make the most of having an openly Anglophile President in the White House, and of his known fondness for the British Royals.

But for left-wing groups, the fêting of President Trump by the British state is a disaster to be resisted. While the President will not be coming into central London during his time in the United Kingdom, a protest is called outside Parliament on Wednesday, and another, smaller, protest is planned for Windsor town on Tuesday night, reports The Guardian.

A call to action by the left-wing group planning the London action and previously behind the 2019 ‘Trump Baby Blimp‘ has come under severe criticism for its use of fake news events, and for hyperbolic language that claims the coming of the U.S. President presages a fascist takeover of the United Kingdom. Fronted by left-wing activist Zoe Gardner, the dialogue stated: “There’s a darkness coming. It’s already swallowed America, and now it’s coming for us too”.

Among the fake news events reported in the clip were British cities being in flames as a fictional future government deported migrants, the creation of an anti-woke paramilitary force, and English flags being hung off Tower Bridge. As noted by The Daily Telegraph, Conservative shadow minister Chris Philp said the rhetoric was clearly dangerous, coming as it did in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the American political activist.

Philip told the paper: “This is hysterical scaremongering by people who are clearly unhinged. The idea that welcoming the democratically elected leader of our closest ally could open the door to some sort of fascism is obviously absurd. These people need to reconnect with reality. This sort of stuff risks inflaming tensions and inciting violent mobs.

Full itinerary released ahead of Trump’s second state visit to the UK

US President Donald Trump is set to enjoy an unprecedented second state visit to the UK.

Trump has already been feted with a grand state visit to the UK, hosted by the late Queen in 2019, and no American leader has previously been offered such an honour twice.

Typically, second-term US presidents who have already made a state visit are offered tea or lunch with the monarch at Windsor Castle, as was the case for George W Bush and Barack Obama.

But Trump – the first ever convicted felon to become US president – received an invitation to make a second state visit.


September 16

The president, accompanied by his wife and First Lady, Melania Trump, will arrive in the UK on Tuesday evening and be greeted on behalf of the King by the ambassador of the United States of America and Viscount Hood, Lord-in-Waiting.

There will be no public-facing element on the first day of his state visit, when the president will remain within the private Windsor Castle’s estate, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

The Trumps will remain in the castle’s private estate on Wednesday and stay at the royal residence overnight.


September 17

On Wednesday, the couple will be greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales before being formally welcomed by the King and Queen as a royal salute is fired from the east lawn of Windsor Castle and at the Tower of London.

The Trumps will be treated to a carriage procession through the Windsor estate with Charles, Camilla, William and Kate along a route towards the castle that is lined by members of the Armed Forces, with three military bands from the Royal Marines, the Army and the RAF.

Trump, accompanied by Charles, is set to inspect the Guard of Honour at Windsor Castle.



Members of the Royal Family will join the Trumps in the State Dining Room, and the visitors will be taken to see a special display of Royal Collection items which relate to the United States of America, in the Green Drawing Room.

In a private moment, they will later visit the late Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, and lay a wreath, followed by a short tour of the chapel and a musical performance from the chapel choir.



Trump will be treated to a flypast by the Red Arrows and UK and US F-35 military jets on the east lawn at Windsor Castle and a special beating retreat military ceremony.

The traditional grand state banquet is set to take place at Windsor Castle in the evening, with both Trump and Charles set to give speeches as the glittering event gets underway.


September 18

On Thursday, a guard of honour from RAF Halton and bagpipers are set to greet Trump after he arrives at Chequers and meets Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his wife, Lady Victoria.

Trump will stop off for a personal view of the Sir Winston Churchill archives held at Chequers, before having a bilateral meeting.

Later, the political leaders are to attend a business reception, hosted by the Chancellor at Chequers.

Elsewhere, the First Lady is set to look at Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.

Afterwards, she will join Kate at Frogmore Gardens for a meeting with the Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels programme as they learn about nature to achieve their Go Wild badge. Kate has been Joint President of the Scout Association since 2020.

She will then travel to Chequers to join her husband as the remaining elements of the state visit take place.

Sir Keir and Lady Victory are to bid farewell to the Trumps at Chequers. The Lord Chamberlain, on behalf of Charles, is to bid farewell to the Trumps as the state visit comes to an end.

First Lady Melania Trump stepped off Marine One on Wednesday to greet the Prince and Princess of Wales in Windsor, England, donning full haute couture fit only for the world’s royalty.

To kick off the United States-United Kingdom state visit between the Trumps and British monarch, Melania Trump wore a charcoal wool suit from Dior Haute Couture — perhaps a glimpse into the highly anticipated couture collection from the fashion house’s new creative director, Jonathan Anderson?

Mrs. Trump and her loyal fashion confidant Hervé Pierre paired the suit with a custom Dior wide-brim hat in a plum shade as well as black suede Dior stilettos.

In terms of color palette, the look was a fit for the rich burgundy Emilia Wickstead coat dress that Catherine, Princess of Wales, wore to greet Mrs. Trump. The princess paired the coat with a matching burgundy hat from Jane Taylor and Gianvito Rossi 105 stilettos.

I think the hat is insulting.  If you don't want people to see your face, especially your eyes, stay home.

First Lady Melania Trump arrived at the United States-United Kingdom state dinner on Wednesday in a colorful Carolina Herrera gown as well as emerald and diamond jewels.

The state dinner, held at Windsor Castle, saw Melania Trump in an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera number ripped from the American fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which featured a similar color palette and silhouette.

The yellow gown, with its wide purple belt, is reminiscent of the early days of Yves Saint Laurent, who was known for his color-blocking, clashing-colors designs.

To add even more color, Mrs. Trump wore a pair of large emerald and diamond earrings — jewels that could have easily been pulled from the Royal Jewelry Collection.

Our Breitbart London Editor, Oliver JJ Lane, noted to me that President Trump wore an impeccably tailored white tie suit (uncommon in America, but a custom at U.K. state dinners).

“Consisting of a cutaway tailcoat, white starched shirt with wing collar, white bow-tie and waistcoat in matching white fabric (silk or cotton to taste), and high-waisted black wool trousers with a double stripe up the side of the leg — contrasts with the traditionally less formal tuxedo, which has a ‘lounge’ type jacket, black bow tie, black waistcoat or cummerbund, and just one stripe up the trouser leg,” Lane told me of Mr. Trump’s suit.





Also for the dinner, Catherine, Princess of Wales, for a hand-embroidered Chantilly lace evening coat with a silk crepe gown by Phillipa Lepley. The princess paired the gown with royal jewelry, in particular, the Lover’s Knot tiara and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s earrings.

The Lover’s Knot tiara was a personal favorite of Princess Catherine’s late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Having worn heels in my much younger days (not even spikes) I'm not sure that would work. But it seems to for her and these ladies.


On another note...I really like the wide brimmed hat. Shades her eyes, protects her skin and just looks cool! Her gown for the dinner doesn't flick my bic. I've seen her wear far more elegant gowns. This one is a little too "Michelle-ish" to me. But the good Lord knows, I don't have much taste.

Trump was all smiles as he shared a warm handshake with the beaming monarch before departing Windsor Castle. The president is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Chequers, the British leader’s rural retreat. Topics like Gaza, the war in Ukraine and trade are set to be on the agenda.

Meanwhile, the first lady teamed up with Kate Middleton and visited the Squirrel Scouts. They stepped out at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor. Just prior, Melania toured the Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House with Queen Camilla.

The joint outing between Melania, 55, and the Princess of Wales, 43, is a first for the women. They joined the U.K.’s Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program to witness children exploring nature and earn their "Go Wild" badge.

For the visit, Melania Trump wore Ralph Lauren’s Bryn belted lamb-suede jacket, which features box-pleated patch pockets and a waist-cinching buckled belt.

From what little I've seen, the leftists' much hoped for anti-Trump protests have been pretty minimal.

Melania Trump’s enigmatic style staple, the face-covering wide-brimmed hat, is back. And this one cast an even lower, closer shadow — rendering her expressions even more inscrutable — than any before it.

As she strolled through the castle grounds beside Queen Camilla, the contrast between the two was striking. While her host’s face appeared lit by sunlight passing through the wafer-thin, upturned brim of her Philip Treacy hat, Melania’s was downturned and opaque, its edges producing an angular silhouette that only added to the severe effect of her military-style skirt suit. In lieu of practical motives (British Septembers do not typically require sun protection) the millinery messaging was clear: “Don’t look at me.”



The first lady often uses accessories, whether hats or oversized sunglasses, as armor. At January’s presidential inauguration she paired her somber navy suit with a boater so wide that (by design or default) it memorably prevented her husband from planting a kiss on her cheek. It felt like a pointed choice on a day that, for her, kicked off four more years of unwelcome media scrutiny.

Yet, Melania also has a habit of confounding fashion-watchers. Because if her daytime outfit was intended to deflect the world’s gaze, her dinner gown screamed for its attention.



By then, of course, Melania’s hat had come off — the only permissible headwear at a state banquet are the crowns and tiaras worn by senior royals. But beyond revealing her face for the first time that day, the first lady made an active attempt to stand out in a dandelion yellow Carolina Herrera gown.

State dinners are as formal as British social events go. And while the dress code for women is unwritten, and thus open to interpretation, Melania’s strapless outfit existed at its very fringes. The gown was long-sleeved and floor-length, yes, but the first lady was also one of the very few attendees (her stepdaughter Tiffany Trump being another) with shoulders on full show. Her conspicuous square-buckled, pastel pink belt will also have raised eyebrows.
