Troubling signs for America’s youth
By Chris Talgo

This week, Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute released three polls highlighting the views of likely voters aged 18 to 39 across a wide range of issues. Suffice to say, the results do not bode well for the future.

In the first poll, 53 percent of young people said they want a democratic socialist to win the 2028 presidential election, and 76 percent agree “somewhat” or “strongly” that “major industries like health care, energy, and big tech should be nationalized to give more control and equity to the people.”

In the second poll, 62 percent believe the “American economy is unfair to young people,” and 55 percent said they would support a law to confiscate “excess wealth,” including second homes, luxury cars, and private boats, to help young people buy their first homes.

In the third poll, 59 percent support a law that imposes a maximum annual income cap for individuals, 40 percent support punishing Americans who refuse to use others’ preferred pronouns, and 59 percent support giving the United Nations authority over the U.S. Supreme Court and presidency to “protect rights.”

It does not take a genius to find the common denominator: Young Americans do not cherish personal liberty, national sovereignty, and free-market capitalism.

This is a result of the wealth gap exacerbated by capital gains income receiving perferential tax treatment compared to payroll earnings.

It's easier to steal the 1%'s stuff than it is to earn yourself, because the odds are stacked against earned payroll income.

You don't get rich by working.  Working is for chumps.  You get rich via capital gains or crime.

The system is rigged against working people.  Working people know it.  The detached bastids that run this country need to treat payroll earnings income better before the unwashed masses give up on the system that keeps the 1% the 1%.

Not sure if this is sarcasm? I am not in the 1 per cent...but they are the ones that provide jobs to the 99 per cent.

So I found this article disturbing if this is the current mind set.

Enjoy the Trump years for what they are.

Consider them to be a "national version" of the "Rudy Renaissance" that New York City experienced during Giuliani's tenure there.

But as we see how things have gone in New York, realize that "Mr. Trump's Renaissance" will only last for a while. During his term, perhaps a few years afterwards.

And then...

Working for wages is the way to save up enough to start your own business. It might take two jobs and some frugality. It doesn't have to be some tech giant. Find something people dread doing for themselves and get started offering a service doing it for them.

Working for yourself is the ticket to gaining wealth. Your boss will always be loyal to you and have your welfare first and foremost.

It will require commitment, long hours, and sweat, but it can be done, especially if you don't piss the money away on toys and the latest crap.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Young people look favorably on socialism because they were so thoroughly indoctrinated and taught lies in the public schools. History classes are a fraud.

Fifteen years ago, on the college campus on which he worked, one of the students asked Mr. M who "Il Duce" was. Of course, he pronounced it "eel deuce." Mr. M had to explain WWII to him. Apparently, the schools don't think that's a topic worthy of instruction. And you can bet they don't know how oppressive the USSR, North Korea, China have been.

I heard a quote recently," I would rather work 80 hours a week for myself than 40 hours for someone else."
It's not for everyone but the sweat equity has its rewards. My wife and I took out student loans and paid them all back at  a time when
1) the interest wasn't tax deductible
and 2)the interest rate on HEAL loans was T bill plus 3.5% and in early 80s that was 15% interest accruing while I was in school. I knew what I was doing and we living meagerly for a few years but we have no regrets. We didn't whine or b*tch p*ss and moan. We paid them back. It was delayed gratification which many today don't understand.

The results of this poll tell me that the respondents have never held a job where they pay taxes, so have no idea how much of their sweat goes towards giving the laY and illegal immigrants better healthcare and a better standard of living than most of them…..until mommy and daddy no longer give them free room and board, plus healthcare.

I remember having a discussion with my son, who the UC system and his peers nudged to the far left, about an upcoming state bond vote when he said he didn’t mind paying higher taxes to help people and I responded that it was easy for him to take that position since he had no income to tax and that people who weren’t working shouldn’t be allowed to vote for increased taxes on those who weren’t working shouldn’t working. We stopped talking politics because he is one of those people homjus fly off in a rage when they hear views they don’t agree with.
