Horrific footage captured the moment a madman fatally stabbed a Ukrainian refugee from behind as she sat on a train in North Carolina.

The sickening attack unfolded on August 22, soon after Iryna Zarutska, 23, boarded a South End light rail train in Charlotte.

Cops identified the stabber as homeless man Decarlos Brown Jr., 35, who has a lengthy rap sheet, including an arrest for assaulting his sister.

He was seen in the footage watching Zarutska for some time after she sat in the seat in front of him, eventually taking out what appeared to be a blade from his pocket.

He then stood up and loomed over the 23-year-old, swinging the knife at her as she sat with her phone.

Brown was shown leaving a trail of blood throughout the train as other passengers appeared not to realize the killing that had taken place, before he rips off his shirt.

He was arrested soon after and charged with first-degree murder. His bond was subsequently denied by a judge and he remains in custody.

Zarutska's heartbroken family said on a GoFundMe page that she had only arrived in the US in 2022 'seeking safety from the war' in her home country, and 'hoping for a new beginning' before the slaying.

Down in the South, in times past, they had "a procedure" for dealing with vermin such as this. It consisted of rope, a tree, and a group of grim-faced men.

But "what about justice???" you protest.

Justice only works with miscreants who have the basic standards of intelligence to comprehend it and why such justice is being applied against them. There is a certain percentage of the population that doesn't rise to even this level.

For them, the only thing they WILL "understand" is by example. Even someone with an IQ of 65 will see the "events at the tree" and realize that could have been him if he had done the same. Not much reasoning power required.

Whether you admit it or not, that's what kept the crime "from below" to acceptable levels in days long past "down there".

On Friday, the Charlotte Area Transit System released surveillance video of Aug. 22, the night 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska was slain after she left her job working at a pizzeria.

Homeless persons need addiction revovery services, mental health services, housing, life skills education, re-integration services, and long-term case management.  They need people to care enough to hold them to expectations above their current circumstances.

Compassion for the homeless, and everyone at large, means lowering the cost of living by getting government out of the way of progress and growth.

A North Carolina magistrate judge is under fire for allowing a schizophrenic, repeat offender to walk free without bond, seven months before he fatally stabbed a Ukrainian refugee on a Charlotte light rail train in an unprovoked attack that has horrified the community.

Magistrate Judge Teresa Stokes released DeCarlos Brown Jr., 34, on Jan. 21 on a “written promise to appear” after he was arrested on charges of misusing the 911 system during a police welfare check. Brown, who is homeless and diagnosed with schizophrenia, told officers he believed “man-made” material was implanted in his body, controlling his movements. He had been arrested many times previously.
 
When officers advised him it was a medical matter and left, Brown became agitated and called 911 again, prompting officers to arrest and charge him with a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Despite his violent criminal history, mental illness, and lack of a fixed address, Stokes let him go with no bond required.

BREAKING: The FBI has announced that Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr., the suspect in the stabbing death of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a North Carolina train, has been federally charged with one count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system.

"The brutal attack on Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte Light Rail was a disgraceful act that should never happen in America," FBI Director Kash Patel said.

"The FBI jumped to assist in this investigation immediately to ensure justice is served, and the perpetrator is never released from jail to kill again.

I want to thank Attorney General [Pam] Bondi for her pursuit of today’s federal charges, which are the first step toward delivering justice for Iryna and her family – as well as the millions of Americans who deserve to live in our great American cities free from being targeted by violent criminals."

By every metric, the killing of the young woman in Charlotte, N.C. was more brutal than George Floyd's death. She was not a violent felon nor in the act of committing more crimes when she suddenly found herself bleeding out on a train following a knife attack from behind.
