Trump’s war on wind just got much bigger
 
The Trump administration plans to cancel permits for a wind energy project off the coast of Massachusetts that would initially power some 400,000 homes, according to court documents filed Wednesday, as the president escalates his war against offshore wind.

The administration has targeted three wind projects in the past two weeks, also moving to revoke permits for a Maryland project and issuing a stop-work order for Revolution Wind, off the coast of Rhode Island and Connecticut, which is already 80 percent built.
 
“This is a nightmare situation for investors,” said Atin Jain, an energy analyst at BloombergNEF, about the Revolution stop-work order.

The administration is also considering issuing stop-work orders for the four remaining offshore wind projects under construction, according to two people familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak with the media.

Biased headline.

The war is against government supporting a particular form of energy development instead of the marketplace.

And using wind power guarantees Chinese manufacturers profit as that's where the turbines and blades are made.

Why would the US support doing that?

American jobs my @$$.  The wind turbine blades are made in Canada and in France.

Use the Defense Production Act, the Interstate Commerce Commission, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to get some gas piplines and gas power generation stations built, pronto.

Also, diversify back into coal, LNG, and nuclear power generation using newer technologies to increase efficiency, reduce pollution, and improve safety.

New York State can pound sand.  They have no business obstructing interstate commerce by preventing the construction of new pipelines to bring gas from the Marcellus Shale Formation to New England.

New York has been doing that since I lived in Connecticut in the 80s

Amount of rebar needed for the base of a single windmill. This is part of a project I’m working on for a wind farm going up in Colorado.
