Jeanine Pirro warns that 70% of killers of African American teens in the capital remain at large, as Trump's National Guard deployment yields arrests.
 
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” sharply criticizing the city's crime rate and the lack of consequences for violent offenders. Pirro's remarks come as the city grapples with a high-profile crime wave and a recent deployment of the National Guard by President Donald Trump.
 
Pirro stated that Washington, D.C., has become "one of the most violent cities, not just in the United States, but in the world." She expressed concern over the high number of shootings, stabbings, and assaults, and the low rate of arrests and convictions for these crimes.
 

Specifically, Pirro highlighted the disproportionate impact of violent crime on young people in the city. "In the last year and eight months, 45 black teenagers, minority teenagers, have been shot and killed with firearms," Pirro said. She revealed that the clearance rate—the percentage of cases solved—for these murders is 29%. This means that 70% of the individuals who murdered these teenagers are still at large.

The U.S. Attorney dismissed claims that crime has significantly decreased, labeling them as "nonsense." She emphasized that the primary responsibility of government is the protection of its citizens, and that President Trump's administration is committed to providing D.C. with the necessary resources to address the crime issue.
