If the Latin West still followed Holy Tradition, besides praying for the recovery of those injured, they be asking for the prayers of the new martyrs for Christ, no lengthy process of waiting for verified miracles, martyrdom is enough. (We still do it that way in the Orthodox East. We're already asking the intercessions of the Holy New Martyrs of Damascus -- the faithful killed in an attack by the Daesh* on a Divine Liturgy at St. Elias Church.)
