New B-21 Raider Will Never Be the Stealth ‘Battleship’

Key Points and Summary - Contrary to claims that drones and AI are making manned aircraft obsolete, the B-21 Raider represents a vital evolutionary step in a timeless strategic capability.

-The fundamental character of war has not changed, and the B-21 is not a revolutionary "game-changer" but a more advanced tool for the enduring missions of deterrence and precision strike.

-It is not a vulnerable "battleship" but a necessary platform that incorporates human judgment, which drones and AI cannot replace in the complexities of warfare, ensuring U.S. air dominance for decades.

The Strategic Importance of the B-21 Raider in Modern Warfare
Much has been made in recent months of the revolutionary effects drones and AI are having on the contemporary battlespace. The discussion about these technologies can usefully be framed as game changer – a Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) profoundly and rapidly transforming the character of warfighting. But advocates of this viewpoint are just as wrong today as those touting an RMA were in the 1990s.

Were Trump a democrat, the MSM would claim the B-21 was the greatest weapon since the crossbow, and crossbow was to be the weapon to end all wars. eeefly
