A question for any forum attorney...

Since John Harbaugh had just signed a 3 year Contract with the Ravens, does he still get paid in full for the total term of the Contract?

Secondly, if he chooses to sign with another organization, does he STILL get all the money owed under the existing Contract?

I'm not an attorney but from what I understand of these contracts, yes, they're guaranteed in terms of their money. Teams are liable for the cost of entire contract term. The only way they could get out is if there is a clawback provision in the contract. That isn't all that common as far as I know, though you can and do see them more in college coach's contracts.

That makes the Raiders situation even more insane considering how many coaches they're still paying!

There was once a time in the National Hockey League didn't even allow coaches who were fired to be hired by another team until their contract expired, unless the team that fired them surrendered their rights (usually they could demand a draft pick in compensation for doing so). The NFL doesn't do that (since Jon Gruden got traded to Tampa, they don't allow coach trades anymore).

Bills offense has won despite WR challenges. Can it continue?

excerpt:

Cooks played a significant role in the win, including catching a 36-yard pass from Allen to set up the winning score.

The Bills, however, didn't leave the game unscathed. Instead, they were dealt an onslaught of receiver injuries this past week. Joshua Palmer was placed on injured reserve (IR) before the win against the Jaguars, and both Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers suffered torn ACLs in Jacksonville.

The Bills have proved that winning games without an obvious No. 1 receiver is feasible with Allen at the helm and heavy usage of their tight ends and running backs, but the question remains about winning the game -- Super Bowl LX.

In 2024, the offense broke franchise records for points and touchdowns but lost in the AFC Championship Game. There are clear top targets in tight end Dalton Kincaid, who is a difference-maker when he's healthy, and primary slot receiver and 2022 fifth-round pick Khalil Shakir. Shakir has become Allen's most reliable and go-to target (he led the team in targets and receptions the past two seasons), but, for context, ranked 30th in receptions (72) and 44th in receiving yards (419).

Yes...the Bills beat themselves this afternoon/evening, losing 33-30 in Overtime.

They fumbled FIVE TIMES!  Josh Allen THREE OF THOSE ON HIM! They handed the Broncos TEN POINTS in the last minute of the 1st half making it 20-10.

And yet, they still got it to Overtime, where the refs made some questionable calls that went against Buffalo (the "interception" that was a catch, the PI) ... Allen is a really good QB, but they sure had bad luck today

Now Nix is out with a fluke injury on the second-last play of the game (some are saying it's karma for the Refs' bad calls against the Bills), so Denver has to start some guy who hasn't played in 3 years against a tough Playoff opponent ... yikes, good luck with that!!

We have seen so many really really bad calls all year long. It's stunning - and makes it really hard not to believe the NFL has predetermined which teams they want to win.

Which, I will note, is substantially illegal. But, I guess, the $10,000 penalty prescribed in law is not enough of a deterrent.

Yeah... I watched the Packers vs. Bears playoff game last week, because it was available on Amazon Prime (I cancelled my YouTube TV subscription a couple of years ago). It felt just as scripted as a professional wrestling match: the favorite (Bears) get down early, then make a comeback in the second half, eventually winning after some back-and-forth scores. It's just a little too obvious when the Packers completely dominated the first half, then in the second half the Bears are suddenly competent again. Add in a few questionable referee calls and blown plays, and it's just too much. I won't bother watching another NFL game.

And now Sean McDermott, probably one of the most honorable men and classiest acts in the NFL, is out of a job.

I get why—an 0-7 record in overtime games is a pretty damning figure—but it's tough to see the guy take the fall when there isn't really anyone out there who would be a surefire improvement. MAYBE you pull Skip Holtz up from the UFL, but I'm hardly even hearing his name mentioned. Most of the other names left on the market have huge baggage or are practically unknown. McDermott was the heart and soul of that franchise, and to scapegoat him and take him out... that's going to change the whole character of the franchise.

And seriously, Allen can cry all he wants but that still doesn't equate to punishment or accountability for what he did last night. The dubious ending aside, we know that team's record in OT. He made too many gaffes yesterday that could have avoided such a fate.

Cuban Americans will make history on Monday, January 19.

Either Mario Cristobal becomes the first Cuban American head coach to win the CFP National Championship, overcoming the odds by leading the 12th team that nearly missed the playoffs, or Fernando Mendoza becomes the first Cuban American quarterback in history to both win the Heisman Trophy and lead his team to a perfect season capped by a CFP National Championship.

Either way, Cuban Americans will celebrate our heritage with the same enthusiasm we bring to every major achievement, much like we do with every pronouncement attributed to Marco Rubio, whom many proudly regard as the greatest Secretary of State of all time.

Let's imagine for a moment that yes, the game was scripted and TPTB wanted the Denver Bronco's and BO NIX to be the new Cinderella Story.

The very next play he breaks his ankle?

Bills promote OC Joe Brady to head coach on 5-year deal
Alaina Getzenberg

excerpt:...

Brady, 36, has been with the organization since 2022, initially joining McDermott's staff as the team's quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to interim offensive coordinator in November of the 2023 season after then-offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was fired. Brady was then the team's full-time offensive coordinator in 2024 and 2025.

Since promoting Brady (Week 11, 2023), the Bills have ranked first in EPA per play (0.14) and second in points per game (29.1). The Bills had nine games with 30-plus points this season, tied with the Rams for the most in the NFL. Quarterback Josh Allen won his first MVP award in 2024, and running back James Cook III finished with the rushing title in 2025. The Buffalo offense in 2024 also broke records for most points (525) and touchdowns (65) in a season in franchise history.

Sources: Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer
Don Van Natta Jr.
 and
Seth Wickersham

Jan 27, 2026, 05:00 PM ET

Bill Belichick, the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach, is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

In voting earlier this month, Belichick fell short of the 40 out of 50 votes needed for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility, four sources with firsthand knowledge of the outcome told ESPN. Belichick received a call from a Hall representative last Friday afternoon with the news that he won't be inducted into the Hall in Canton, Ohio, this summer.

Several sources who spoke with the coach over the weekend described Belichick as "puzzled" and "disappointed" by his inability to secure support from at least 80% of Hall committee members.

"Six Super Bowls isn't enough?" Belichick asked an associate, referring to the championships he won as head coach of the New England Patriots. He won two more as defensive coordinator of the New York Giants. To another associate, he said, "What does a guy have to do?"

Another source familiar with Belichick's thinking said, "Politics kept him out. He doesn't believe this is a reflection on his accomplishments."

Both Mr. Bele and I don't like football.  We decided to buy a few 'SuperBowl' snacks; (likely chicken wings or cheese and crackers plate or pretzels and nuts and some vegs and dip) and watch a movie.  My vote is for Mel Gibson's "The Patriot", but I'm leaving the movie choice up to him.

NFL Hires Chief Kindness Officer with Checkered Past
Breitbart News
2 Feb 2026
Quote
Dhar Mann, the new Chief Kindness Officer tapped by the NFL for the upcoming Super Bowl LX, has come under scrutiny due to his past fraud convictions.

Mann, whose large following on various social media platforms has earned him billions of views, was tapped as the NFL’s Chief Kindness Officer and his appointment instantly raised a few eyebrows due to his past felony fraud charges, per the New York Post:

In 2011, Mann pled “no contest” to five felony counts of defrauding the city of Oakland, which accused him of fraudulently pocketing more than $44,000 he’d received from city redevelopment grants, according to The New York Times.

Prosecutors reportedly reduced the charges from 13 to five felony counts. He was fined $37,500 and faced no jail time.

Mann told The New York Times in 2021 that the conviction was later expunged.

Mann, however, has been open about his past in previous interviews, saying he turned his life around through meditation and prayer. ...

The NFL is a clown show. A "kindness officer," while the league is approving divisive and hateful Super Bowl performers like Bad Bunny:

Kid Rock says TPUSA’s alternate halftime show is for people who love Jesus and America

Musician Kid Rock pushed back against critics as he prepares to headline Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” this weekend, saying the event is meant to celebrate a love of country, not spread hate.

Turning Point USA, which was co-founded by Charlie Kirk, is hosting its own alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show this Sunday. The event comes as conservatives criticize the NFL’s choice to feature Latin music star Bad Bunny as the halftime performer.

“I think I speak for Turning Point and all the artists involved, that none of us are approaching this with any hate in our hearts at all,” Kid Rock said Friday on “Fox & Friends.”

“It’s just a love for our base and love for music, our country,” he added.

Kid Rock is slated to headline the event, which will also feature Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.

The Detroit native, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, argued that many Americans feel like they’re not being seen by the NFL and the entertainment industry.

“There’s a big portion of this country, like it or not, that’s underserved entertainment-wise. We’re just [going to] go play for our base.

You know, people who love America, love football, love Jesus,” Kid Rock said.

On Monday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed some of the criticism surrounding the halftime performer choice, saying Bad Bunny is “one of the great artists in the world.”

Kid Rock teased a performance of what he called “one of the greatest written songs” and said his version would be released later that night. He said the song was written by a major country artist and that he added new elements to it.

“I plan to come out pretty classic rock, in-your-face, high energy, what people would expect. But then it turns very quickly,” he said....

Kid Rock performed during the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show in 2004 when the show was in Houston, Texas. He appeared alongside Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Nelly, famously wearing an American flag.

How to watch the Turning Point USA alternate halftime show

Turning Point USA on Monday announced its lineup for their alternate "All-American Halftime Show" to counterprogram against the NFL’s performance featuring Bad Bunny.

Kid Rock will be the headliner for the show, which will take place on Feb. 8. Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett will also perform at the event.

’The All-American Halftime Show’ is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom," Turning Point USA’s Andrew Kolvet said in a news release.

"We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game. These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too."
