Knives don't destroy lives. I have a bunch, ranging from kitchen knives to military issue bayonets to tobacco knives and such, and some even for hunting (field dressing and skinning wild game).
I usually have three smaller (under 6" blades) knives on my person at any given time.
The only person any of them have cut on my watch is (unfortunately) me.
That said, it isn't the knife, it's the person holding it, and the culture that holds them.
