We'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

If Biden did what Trump did here, you and I wouldn’t have any disagreement here from others tipping hat!!

Trump can fire her. But he doesn’t have the right to defame her character. That’s how E Jean Carroll made money off Trump

And you can chalk it up to incompetence. And maybe this woman isn’t the right fit for the job.

But it still doesn’t point to anything deliberate.

Yeeeaaahhh, you really don't know how these statistical reports work do you?

You haven't really answered my question about how to get an objective measure of the US economy. I'll wait for an answer I guess.

Don't shoot the messenger

You have to when the messenger is lying through her teeth to the American people for political gain like this person.

Maybe he’ll answer your question after he answers mine of where he can show that any evidence now and from her past that she deliberately cooks numbers in order to hurt or benefit a certain candidate

We are a tribal species. It’s our instinct to protect the tribe.

If these jobs numbers  came out while Harris was president, the same people running interference for Donald Trump would be using that same data as hammer  over Harris’s head. And I suspect that the folks over at Democratic underground would be running interference.

It’s just the nature of modern day politics. Biden and the Democrats made the same mistake as Donald Trump and his supporters are making.

It's already been provided. You can't claim competency and screw up to the tune of nearly 1M jobs over a long period of time.

But keep shifting that light onto Trump and demand he meet your standards.

Thanks for the armchair psych degree, but Harris was running when these numbers were revised, and there was a good reason for that instead of when old dusty Joe was still running.

I can make a safe bet that if the same BLS came out and instead of showing us losing jobs,  showed that the economy gained 500,000 jobs in  May, June and July, and 1 million factory jobs were created versus losing factory jobs, those who are desperate to carry water for Donald Trump would be cheering those numbers as an example of how Donald Trump’s policies are working

If this woman was truly out to “get Trump” why didn’t she just put in place the lower revised numbers in May and June?

These July numbers are gonna be revised lower. Trump knows this. So do his supporters. That explains part of their defensive responses

This is where Trump does actually start to resemble a Hugo Chavez type and his supporters being the para-militarized socialist types. Soon he'll be jailing employers for not hiring people.

Well, he did warn businesses about raising their prices earlier this year. Chavez did the same thing.

So there’s a similarity

You're free to explain it to us.

It's a question. You can ponder it. It is very difficult getting completely 100% objective data on the US economy that is trusted by everyone, period. BLS numbers had, up to a few years ago, had a "good reputation" amongst the elites. But again, there's no way to count the economics comings and goings of 340 million people on a month to month basis. Through statistics, they can show some things, but that is where doubt starts to come in. The efforts with the monthly numbers require a shit ton of employees, of which many may have their own biases etc. Possibly government shouldn't even be involved in the first place, I've heard this before and dont' think it's entirely wrong.

But BLS data was probably some of the best in the world. Now it's death by a thousand cuts.

I had chatgpt compile the revisions for the last year or so, I couldn't really see any pattern of deceit.

Were that the case, there would be no downward revisions during the Biden years at all, you'd only have a million jobs created month after month no matter what. It'd be like the Soviet Union where they just reported awesome economics every month and news agencies and such just laugh at them. But that isn't what happened.

Nope, they blew that during the Clinton admin when they fudged to claim 700K jobs created when 2/3rds of that number they even quietly admitted years later was bogus.

Serious investors now look at the ADP numbers and other indirect indicators to get a complete picture because it's know the biased bureaucrats tend to fudge things to their biases.

Sad part is that it's easier than ever to get the number in the ballpark.

From ChatGPT:

Quote
The latest ADP National Employment Report, released on July 30, 2025, indicates that the U.S. private sector added **104,000 jobs** in July, surpassing the anticipated 75,000 increase. This marks a significant rebound from June, which experienced a revised loss of 23,000 jobs. Additionally, annual pay growth remained steady at **4.4% year-over-year** .([Reuters][1], [Advisor Perspectives][2], [ADP Media Center][3])

Despite this positive data, the broader labor market is showing signs of strain. The U.S. economy added only **73,000 jobs** in July, with significant downward revisions to previous months, bringing the average monthly gain to just 35,000 over the past three months—the weakest since 2010 . This slowdown has heightened expectations that the Federal Reserve may consider interest rate cuts in its September meeting.([Axios][4], [Investopedia][5])

And when those jobs were massively revised in August 2024, just three months before the election I don’t recall Harris and Biden having a temper tantrum and lashing out at everybody and blaming everybody.

Look, this boils down to the fact that jobs are declining while inflation is on the rise and Trump and his supporters are looking for something, anything, anybody to blame

And now, if we do actually have good economic growth, the Democrats will say it's because the BLS people made up the numbers so they wouldn't be fired. And they can point to Trump's latest turd of a tweet as proof.

Bill Beach, who Trump tapped for the top job at BLS in 2017, said Sunday that the president’s suggestions that McEntarfer had rigged the jobs report betrayed a misunderstanding in the data collection and reporting standards at the bureau, which compiles statistics on critical economic factors including inflation and employment.

“There’s no way for that to happen,” Beach told CNN’s Kasie Hunt on “State of the Union.” “The commissioner doesn’t do anything to collect the numbers. The commissioner doesn’t see the numbers for until Wednesday before they’re published. By the time the commissioner sees the numbers, they’re all prepared.”

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/08/03/trump-labor-statistics-chief-fired-unemployment-00490988

So what happened was Trump and his cult saw that  McEntarfer  was a Biden appointee and that sent them into a spittle filled rage so they decided she's blame her for Trump's poor economic showing. It won't sell outside the cult, of course. But it allows Trump and his cult to continue the belief  since 2016 that everything that goes wrong for Trump is either rigged, the fault of someone else, or the deep state out to get  Trump

I have no idea what this even means

Trump  saw this woman was appointed by Biden and used that information to  convince himself she singlehandedly rigged  the jobs numbers against him. This is a continuation of a pattern of MAGA and it's leader crying when things don't go their way

Although I have a hunch Trump himself doesn't believe she rigged the numbers. He's just looking for more shiny objects to distract his base from the Epstein fiasco

It's too bad Trump had nobody in his staff with the courage to talk him out of this.  Now his enemies can just discard any good economic news and claim the numbers were rigged.  But this is exactly what we expected to happen in his 2nd term --- an aging man surrounded by sycophants.  There will be fewer leaks but no culture of accountability.

Steve Moore Says Don’t Act Surprised If ‘Gigantic Errors’ By BLS Appointee Become Public

Mariane Angela
News Reporter
August 01, 2025 10:55 PM ET

Economist Steve Moore appeared on Fox Business Friday to criticize a key Biden administration appointee at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), describing her tenure as marked by “gigantic errors” in the reporting of U.S. job data.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he has ordered the firing of BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, accusing her of manipulating job numbers after a disappointing July jobs report. During an appearance on “The Bottom Line,” Moore said that the BLS has revised its job creation numbers multiple times. The downward revisions, he added, could reach as high as 500,000.

“I am also told by my sources at BLS that they are going to, you know, they do all these re-estimates over time. There’s a good sense that they may revise downward the jobs created by Biden by another 500,000 or so. So those are gigantic errors. And so I think she needed to be fired just because of incompetence,” Moore said.

Moore criticized the Biden administration’s handling of the BLS, including removal of key reforms instituted by Bill Beach. Moore said that Beach’s firing paved the way for the current leadership to dismantle procedures aimed at improving data accuracy and transparency.

Trump calls fired BLS commissioner's job numbers the 'biggest miscalculations in over 50 years'
President has accused Erika McEntarfer of falsifying employment data

By Sophia Compton FOXBusiness

President Trump on Sunday accused the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) of inflating job numbers to an "all-time high" prior to the U.S. presidential election, just days after announcing her firing.

"Head of the Bureau of of[sic] Labor Statistics did the same thing just before the Presidential Election, when she lifted the numbers for jobs to an all time high," Trump said in a post to his Truth Social account Sunday afternoon. "I then won the Election, anyway, and she readjusted the numbers downward, calling it a mistake, of almost one million jobs."

In the post, the President also alleged that the "miscalculations" of BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer were the most significant in more than half a century.

"A SCAM!" Trump continued. "She did it again, with another massive "correction," and got FIRED! She had the biggest miscalculations in over 50 years."

The post follows just days after Trump lashed out at the Bureau of Labor Statistics and said he would fire McEntarfer after the U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected in July and large downward revisions were made in the prior two months — suggesting the economy and labor market are weaker than previously believed.
