Trump issues EO to bring back ‘insane asylums’…

Trump just dropped an executive order that could finally clean up America’s drug-ridden, crime-infested streets—and liberal mayors are about to lose their minds.

In a major move aimed at restoring law, order, and basic sanity and hygiene, President Trump is taking direct action to reopen mental health institutions and end the open-air drug chaos that’s turned once-thriving cities into poop-filled war zones. For the millions of Americans trapped in these collapsing blue-run hellscapes, where small, medium, and large businesses are fleeing, violent crime is soaring, and the mentally ill wander the streets untreated, this is more than just an EO. It’s relief.

The latest big business to wave the white flag and flee California, home to some of the most inhospitable cities in the country, is In-N-Out Burger.

They now join a growing list of major companies that refuse to pay sky-high taxes just to operate in a crime-riddled cesspool.

And this is exactly why President Trump’s new executive order is coming at the perfect time.

I worked in downtown Dallas in the 80s and vividly remember when the mental hospitals closed and the patients were dumped on the streets. It was not a good thing.

So where will these people be housed? And under what premise will they be detained under civil commitment?

I think it's a worthy cause but...some of these people a loony as toons and should be locked up. Even then you can't force them to take meds. Some of these people, for whatever weird reason, like living on the street. I guess the total lack of responsibility overcomes fear. There have been hobos forever. They just didn't settle in one area long enough to cause a problem.  And some of these people are truly homeless...lost jobs, homes, etc.

Oh looky...another Executive Order!

1) Trump doesn't have the Constitutional authority to re-establish the institutions that Ted Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson ended in the 1960s

2)  Mental health really is a State issue, and it *should* be the states re-establishing mental hospitals.

3)  How does Trump think the federal government will carry out his Executive Order with a greatly diminished Department of Health and Human Services?

4)  Executive Orders are only as good as the current Administration, or unless the President is a Democrat.

Woah.  This has absolutely shocked me and I find it alarming!  Who is going to determine who gets sent to the insane asylum? AI? Doctors? Government entities? With so many new diagnoses this is beyond frightening and what about the husband or wife who just can't afford long term care will they be able to make some sort of declaration that their spouse belongs in the looney bin now?  What about the children who learn at a slower pace, or who act up or who develop later than their classmates, will it be determined that they belong in an insane asylum?  What about children born with Downs Syndrome?  There are just way too many avenues for this to be abused.  Good grief this reminds me of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". 

I am dead set against this.  I can see an increased need for hospitals that specifically address the needs of the mentally ill, but that definitely doesn't mean that they need to be locked into an insane asylum and throwing away the key which I can see happening.  Many people function well on medications and are productive citizens in society.

Keep in mind that right now there is a shortage of medical staff and they are now 'sedating' those in nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities instead of properly caring for them.

This is just plain wrong!!!

I can just picture now a bunch of robots tending to the proclaimed insane!!!
