Aman was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border, where he surrendered himself to authorities, after allegedly throwing concrete blocks at U.S. Customs and Border Protection cars and an officer.
Elpidio Reyna, 39, of Compton, was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry by FBI agents on Wednesday, with assistance from CBP, FOX 11 reported. He was wanted in connection with an alleged assault on a federal officer in Paramount in June, when Border Patrol had a staging area set up. The Border Patrol agents were confronted by protesters, including agitators who threw concrete blocks and glass bottles at them, resulting in the agents using tear gas.
The agents left the situation while their vehicle was hit by numerous rocks. A federal officer was allegedly injured during the incident, and several government vehicles were damaged.
U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli posted on X about Reyna's arrest on Wednesday, writing, "He was taken into custody by a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was inside one of the vehicles damaged in the attack – a brave law enforcement officer who could have been killed in last month’s dangerous and reckless attack."
