A friend online says that the Russians have lost another MiG 29 at Ashuluk air base in Ashulik, Astrakhan Oblast which is home to the 185th Center for Combat Training and Air Force Combat Implementation. Ashuluk apparently has lost a few such fighters in recent months.

The fighter was sent out on a mission on Thursday (possibly to Ukraine) and did not return. No search party was formed so it is assumed that the Russians already know where it went down.

The performance of Russian tanks in Syria and Ukraine and of Russia AA systems against Ukraine probably will hurt Russian weapons sales to other countries for years to come.

Novorossiysk is the base to which Russia's Black Sea Fleet large ships retreated after Ukraine made occupied Sevastopol unsafe. Now Novorossiysk, the Sea of Azov, and Caspian Sea are becoming unsafe.
