Real key lime pie?  Or that bastardization of key lime pie made with condensed milk?

Not sure, but I  can tell the difference of of what I got in FL vs. Walmart or other posers.  Tint of the pie filling sometimes, but not always is a clue. 

I've got a high end bakery nearby that pretty much nails it.  $20 (and a once a year treat) , and you sure can tell the difference....  Real Key lime has a unique tang.

Your calculation is off.  I'll even give you the benefit of assuming that all the air is at sea level pressure, and not in a cube 1 mile high - let's say off the coast of Miami or Key West.  It's fairly hot there, so we can assume an air temperature of 86°F (30°C) which for wet ocean air would yield a water saturation pressure of 0.0419 atm.  This yields a molecular weight of 28.51 g/mol.

I won't bore you with the math, but the number comes out to only 5.266 million US tons, which gives you an error rate of over 10%.

My Florida-native wife is a bonafide key lime pie snob.  A real key lime pie requires hours to make with LOTS of stirring.  99.9% of the known world avoids all that by using condensed milk.

My wife has tried at least 5 recipes that claim to be authentic, and she just told me  she didn't see any that didn't require condensed milk.  The best one she did, required squeezing 10 pounds of key limes,instead of concentrate.  Seeds and all   Said she wasn't going to do that again.,   My local bakery does the best.  And at $20, I was guessing it wasn't easy or cheap. 

Don't think they'll give me the reciepe either.

The problem is, and why I think people don't take the thread seriously, is that while you're obviously intelligent, your intellect is academic, abstract, quaint, a collection of often unrelated facts that are equivalent to an encyclopedia.

Not that that's bad, but it also leads to what I can 'Christopher Columbus syndrome' or 'Hey I discovered something!' which doesn't have more application in the real world other than as a simple factoid.

I'm a younger generation than you. We don't think in terms of factoids. We think in terms of taking facts assumptions, and variables, integrating them together, and watching the flow of how they interact. Not unlike a factory. Not saying pure science isn't great, but except for rare exceptions it doesn't take you very far.

I will give you an example. This is a dude I stumbled on quite awhile back. He keeps lists on regenerative gardening and soil microbiology. It's fascinating stuff and represents a system if not a manual on how to do it. Very much worth your time. Here's the link:

CE RESPONDS:  The thread is not titled "Applications in the Real World."  And yet you opened the link.  I cannot imagine why, since you prefer gardening.  Not many of us do.

"Science doesn't take you very far."  You said that on a sophisticated computer, over the internet - both things invented probably within your short lifetime.  Hint: Learning something new and your kind of "integrating" are not mutually exclusive.  "Watching the flow of how they act" is the theme of my book, Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life, which has been read and enjoyed by medical doctors, dentists and professionals.

You may think that regenerative gardening is "fascinating stuff," but I assure you that most people do not.  My "Thought for the Day" thread has over 303,000 views.  You will never approach that with a regenerative gardening thread.

OMG yes! I had a horse step on my foot a lot of years ago and for a few weeks I wasn't able to wear anything harder than slippers! 

Ouch .... this is only a toe, I can only imagine how painful your injured foot was.
