Bondi should release 'whatever she thinks is credible' on Epstein: Trump

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Attorney General Pam Bondi should release "whatever she thinks is credible" on Jeffrey Epstein as he faces pressure from his MAGA supporters.

Trump, speaking to reporters as he left the White House, said he received a "very quick briefing" on the Justice Department and FBI review of the Epstein files. The briefing took place before the release of the DOJ and FBI memo last week.

The review found no evidence the deceased financier kept a "client list" of associates and no further charges are expected. The department also released hours of footage as part of its review, which officials say further confirmed Epstein died by suicide while in custody in his jail cell in Manhattan in 2019.

ABC News' Katherine Faulders asked the president what Bondi told him about the review, "specifically, did she tell you at all that your name appeared in the files?"

"No, no, she's -- she's given us just a very quick briefing," Trump responded before making baseless claims the files were created by some of his political foes.

"And in terms of the credibility of the different things that they've seen, and I would say that, you know, these files were made up by Comey, they were made up by Obama, they were made up by the Biden -- and you know, we and we went through years of that with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, with all of the different things that we had to go through," Trump said.

"We've gone through years of it, but she's handled it very well, and it's going to be up to her," Trump said of Bondi. "Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release."...............

Trump at least had the sense to fire him.  With Bondi he's singing her praises and keeps defending her. Perhaps she has the upper hand at least for now.

Bongino hasn’t resigned and has been on record saying it’s all a conspiracy. People like him but all he has actually done is leak to his mates he is unhappy about something. All he seems unhappy about is the language Bondi used about saying there is a list on her desk. He isn’t unhappy about the actually conclusion.

But the conclusion is complete bull. No way only two people were involved in 1000+ victims. It was an operation, it would have involved security, pilots, maids, parents etc

Simple fact is Bondi is getting thrown under the Bus, even though the FBI (Patel and bongino released the statement) backed by Bondi. Simple fact is TRUMP is the boss, if he wants something done, it will be done. Bondi isn’t the blocker, trump is.

Jeffrey Epstein’s former lawyer has claimed the convicted sex offender never created a “client list,” and said there was no suggestion that President Trump had done “anything improper or even questionable.”

In an opinion piece written for the Wall Street Journal, famed attorney Alan Dershowitz said he knows “the facts” and wanted to make “several important things clear” amid a political firestorm over FBI files related to the late disgraced financier.

“Epstein never created a ‘client list.’ The FBI interviewed alleged victims who named several ‘clients.’ These names have been redacted,” Dershowitz wrote.

He also stressed that “we don’t know whether the accusations are true” and that the names mentioned “don’t include any current officeholders.”
