Worst Outlet of the Week - Who Took Bottom Honors in the Latest Round of Dysfunctional Media?

In the run-up to the national birthday it was a busy enough summer week with a pair of notable court cases coming to an end, the new spending bill wending its way laboriously through Congress, and then the 4th of July weekend becoming a bit muted with the flooding tragedy hitting central Texas.
 

With so much going on, we could rely on the press behaving in their usual dysfunctional manner, but once again we had a clear winner early on in the week, given that the result was directly tied to faulty journalism and it had many across the media landscape upset and barking about the impacts. So let’s tug on the hip waders and begin trudging through the swamp that is our media complex and determine who took top (bottom) honors this week.
