Cop Shot as Masked Suspects Launch July 4 Attack on ICE Detention Center in Texas
 
A police officer was shot while responding to a mob attack at an immigration detention center in Texas over the weekend, according to authorities.

The disturbing incident unfolded on Friday night at the ICE Prairieland Detention Facility in Alvarado.

More than a dozen masked suspects “dressed in black” reportedly launched fireworks and damaged vehicles and security cameras in the parking lot “in an apparent effort to lure law enforcement,” sources told CBS News.

“Officers responded to the scene and observed a suspicious person that appeared to be carrying a firearm. As the first responding officer attempted to engage the person, multiple suspects opened fire on the Officer,” the Alvarado Police Department (APD) explained in a statement.

The wounded officer was flown Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth for treatment and is now recovering at home.

What's with the perps wearing masks?  Doesn't the public have a right to know about them just like with cops?  This is about equity, and nothing is more precious to a liberal than "equity." :whistle:
