A hardline Iranian cleric has announced a fundraiser to kill Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Abdolmajid Kharaghaani, who has a large following on social media, said the funds would be used to hire an assassin to murder the US president and the Israeli prime minister.
In a recent interview, he said that “a campaign has been launched with the title of fundraising for murdering Trump and for murdering Netanyahu”, adding: “They do this for $10 million to $20 million in European countries.”
Such operations should be “calculated” and conducted in consultation with Iranian security agencies, Mr Kharaghaani said.
The cleric also argued that civilians should get involved in efforts to assassinate enemy leaders, saying: “It’s not only the military commander’s responsibility to kill the heads of the enemy.
