Will someone tell those idiots they can stop shooting stuff into the atmosphere to block the sun, now?
Actually, this is more likely an argument for doing just that. The reason the North Atlantic is cold is most likely that the melting of the north polar ice cap has diluted the North Atlantic to the point that the thermohaline circulation that moves heat north from the tropics (the most famous warm current that is part of that is the Gulf Stream) has slowed.
Just putting the amount of sulphur allowed in jet fuel back to pre-Clean-Air-Act levels (and only for flights taking routes traveling above 55 degrees north latitude) would be enough to help with this: it would increase cloud formation in the arctic, leading to the north polar ice cap refreezing.
Unless, of course, it's too late, and the thermohaline currents shut down anyway, in which case, even a lot of the oldsters posting here may live to see the next Ice Age.
The fact that warming has been asymmetric with the arctic leading the antarctic -- the latter may actually be cooling -- is one of the many strong arguments against CO2 emissions as the cause of recent climate change. (Note: I am using those last two words in their English meaning, not their Newspeak meaning.)
