WATCH: Committee Hearing Explodes Into Chaos Over Democrat’s ‘Vile’ Comments

A U.S. House committee hearing exploded in fireworks on Wednesday after a Democratic lawmaker made “vile” comments about pro-life supporters in the room.

The scene briefly surprised Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) after he voiced his disgust with abortion opponents during crosstalk at a Rules Committee hearing about President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax cut bill.

Frost was only in attendance to serve as a witness during the GOP-led meeting, but he used his rare opportunity at the microphone to accuse Republicans of protecting the unborn only to let them die of mass shootings or other gun-related crimes as children or young adults.

“You see, they say they’re pro-life because they want the baby to be born, go to school, and get shot in the school. Die in the school, die on the streets,” the congressman said stridently.

Committee Chair Virginia Foxx (R-NC) pounded her gavel as others in the room attempted to shout down Frost, who shouted back, “No, that is what they say.”

“I was not going to say anything, but you’ve gone over the cliff!” Foxx yelled.

Another Republican, Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA), chimed in, “I move to strike his words.”

Frost replied, “I have not gone over the cliff.”

“You have gone over!” Foxx shot back. “We were going to be quiet, but you’ve gone over now!”

“I meant every word,” said the defiant Democrat.

Before accepting Scott’s motion to strike, Foxx, who is pro-life, changed her mind and said she would let Frost’s outburst remain in the record.

“It might be good to leave your words,” she explained. “Because that’s how you feel. But you are not going to come into this room and impugn our integrity! You will not! We are pro-life people, from conception to natural death, most of us are. And don’t you come in here and say, we want to preserve life so people can get shot!”

After a few seconds of silence, Frost replied, “That’s what I’ve seen.”

Asked again about striking Frost’s comments, the Republican chair responded, “Mr. Scott, I think it’s better to leave those words in the record than to take them out.”

Scott withdrew his motion, and the committee carried on, per the Western Journal.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
Such a simple retort would have been something like 'so you're willing to kill millions of unborn even though very small fraction will die in schools or on the streets in some vague future? That sounds almost genocidal.'

Quit getting angry GOP, learn how to cut them off at the knees.

The Republic is lost.
