LOS ANGELES -- President Donald Trump's administration filed suit Monday against Los Angeles, claiming the city is obstructing the enforcement of immigration laws and creating a lawless environment with its sanctuary policies that bar local police from sharing information on people without legal status.

The lawsuit in U.S. District Court says Los Angeles' "sanctuary city" ordinance hinders White House efforts to crack down on what it calls a "crisis of illegal immigration." It is the latest in a string of lawsuits against so-called sanctuary jurisdictions -- including New York, New Jersey and Colorado -- that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

In another development, the Trump administration released about 150 National Guard troops on Tuesday in the first pullback since it dispatched the military force to the Los Angeles area last month, allowing the soldiers to return to regular duty fighting wildfires in California.


"This is just the theater of the absurd," Gov. Gavin Newsom said at a news conference moments before the U.S. Northern Command's announcement. "You've got men and women literally not even assigned, sitting there in their barracks doing nothing, when they were doing something as important as preparing for wildfire season."

Withold Federal funds and arrest those who actively interfere with ICE enforcement actions.

Courts, judges, and laws provide false comfort to Ivy League elites.  But, at the street level, money talks and arrests are more consequential than judges' rulings.

Reversing 35+ years of illegal immigration non-enforcement is a street fight, but those in charge of making laws and enforcing laws have ignored the laws.

Governments that don't follow and enforce the laws passed by the People's elected representatives lose legitimacy.

A nation of laws is no longer a "nation of laws" when they are selectively administered and enforced in defiance of the proper, written Constitutional laws of the United States.

Executive Orders are not "laws" and need to be Constitutionally restrained with an Amendment.
