Only 5% of New Yorkers Voted for Mamdani
Less than 30% even bothered to vote.

June 26, 2025 by Daniel Greenfield

In my post last night, I noted the implausibility of Mamdani’s election numbers compared to his polling in which he performed poorly with

    anyone over 50
    Black people and Latinos
    women
    the working class

I said the results either reflected low turnout or tinkering. Probably both.

Well the low turnout has been confirmed. Less than 30% of Democrats voted in the party’s mayoral primary. Of those 43% supposedly voted for Mamdani. (Ranked choice voting also makes this whole thing more complicated, but I’m keeping it simple.)

As I note in my upcoming article, “56% of registered voters in the city are Democrats so some 7.2% of city residents voted for him. New York City has a population of 8.2 million. Of those 432,305 or 5% voted for Mamdani.”

You can go with the 7% figure which represents voters, but either way this is far from the massive sweep of the city that the media is hyping.

Most New Yorkers didn’t vote for Mamdani. Even most Democrats stayed home.

I'm sorta shocked only 56% of the city are Democrats. Sheesh.

I'm sorta shocked only 56% of the city are Democrats. Sheesh.

I looked up the numbers in the NY City Board of Elections report for Feb. 2025.
For active registered voters, it's about 65% Dem, 11% Rep and the rest are "other" or "blank".

But Mr. Greenfield is correct in noting that the turnout was extremely low and that the city's "ranked choice" scheme skewed the results.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Let's hope our side will get off the duff in November and vote.

Maybe a commie candidate will motivate them.

I hope Silwa is up to the task.
The Republic is lost.

'The concept that 3.5% of a population can potentially overthrow a government or bring about significant political change is known as the "3.5 Percent Rule."

"In the context of the United States, some discussions suggest that a much smaller percentage, such as 1-3%, might be sufficient if the movement is well-organized and has broad support, particularly if it includes elements of the military."

Get real, Silwa has a ZERO chance of getting elected.  ZERO...ZERO...ZERO.  I like him, but he will never carry the day.

And perhaps I should remind you that AOC won with like 14% of the electorate in her district the first time.

If ever there was a time to muster the electorate to vote in NYC, it is now.  Trump should campaign actively for the Republican candidate.  If that is Silwa, he will need all the help he can get.  You can bet all of Hollyweird will turn out to get the communist elected.

The time has come to boycott everything produced by Hollyweird.  They have too much money to shell out to the Democommies.

NY City, the London of America. They need to rewrite the Spiderman citizen reaction of fighting against evil and just have the citizen wearing red Islamic commie flags.
