It's clear DC won't fix itself.  The Republican Congress won't do jack squat.  The Dems will use the Budget Reconciliation Process to steam roll legislative debate and amendment.

It's up to the states themselves to take it upon themselves to fix the Federal Government.

Executive Orders should have a limited life - the remainder of the Fiscal Year in which they are issued, the remainder of the President's current term, or until the next subsequent Congress is seated.

Federal Judges, including Supreme Court Justices, should be term-limited.

Representatives and Senators should also be term-limited.

I'm sure others have ideas to amend how our Federal Government functions.

The People of the States have the ability to drain the Swamp themselves.  Why not do it?  We've waited too long already.

Not only no but HELL NO! No way I would ever agree to let the dufi currently in government anywhere near the constitution.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

We've been through this issue several times on this forum.

IMHO ultimately 'powers' that have been handed over to the federal government need to be returned to the states.  But, there are too many leftists in order for conservatives to try to gain any ground in amending the Constitution or restructuring our government. Quite a dangerous proposal -- as I have stated a couple of times, the time to call for a Constitutional Convention or Convention of States has long passed.

(Interestingly, holding a Constitutional Convention is seen by some as a far right agenda).

There is a difference between a Constitutional Convention and a Convention of States.

A Convention of States, (Article V Convention) is outlined in Article V of the U.S. Constitution for proposing amendments to the existing Constitution.

A Constitutional Convention has the possibility to change the entire structure of government, while a Convention of States is limited to proposing amendments within our existing Constitution.

I'm more for adhering to the Constitution as is and holding people responsible that don't adhere to it.  Isn't that the job of our current AG and DOJ?

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I'm going against the grain.

I proffer before all members of this forum that the Constitution, as it exists today, is one of the prime reasons America is slouching towards Gomorrah.

It remains too deferential to those here who seek to destroy America, and overly protects those who will in time use its very "protections" against us. There is enough "power" granted "to them" in the Constitution (again, as it exists now) to make dhimmis of us, someday. Look at what's going on in New York City TODAY.

However, I don't see a "new Constitutional Convention" (alone) as the solution.
Rather, we need a new "Continental Congress" of the red/purple states (notice I EXCLUDE the blue states) to gather and discuss a future for North America and the white Christians of Euro descent who built the place.

I'll freely state that it looks like the "United States" as it currently exists is obviously no longer "united", and that the future here (at least for the Euro-Christians) involves "something else". Can't say what, as yet...

The problems with the Constitution (today) could not have been foreseen by the Founders. They are mostly omissions and oversights.

For example:
"Natural born citizen": what does that mean?

For example:
Voting: it was an error to leave this to the states. Who among them could have envisioned "ranked-choice voting"? Could they have even understood what that means? (Do you?)

For example:
Citizenship: who should be a citizen (as in "birthright" citizenship, I sense the Supreme Court may take a hike on this one)?

For example:
Age limits to goverment officials. Do we need 90 year old Senators or judges?

If you want to fix the country, you're going to have to fix the Constitution.
No way around that.
Otherwise, we may be hitched to a status quo that is going to take us right over the cliff...

Funny @Fishrrman  the Constitution has served us well for the past 236 years. The problem doesn't lie with the document itself, the problems lies with our politicians who don't adhere to it!
