House conservatives go to war with Senate over Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'

'There's real problems,' Rep. Ralph Norman told Fox News Digital

The House’s conservative fiscal hawks are warning that President Donald Trump’s "one big, beautiful bill" could run into serious problems after the Senate made key changes to the legislation.

"There’s real problems with it," Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. "We’re on board with the president… but we’re concerned about the changes."

He and other members of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus are particularly incensed by the Senate’s decision to defer the expiration of certain green energy tax credits from the former Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) — which those conservatives have dubbed "the Green New Scam."

They’re also wary of additional dollars being spent on raising the debt limit, which Trump has directed GOP lawmakers to do before the U.S. runs out of cash to pay its obligations sometime this summer.

Count me as being among them! I just learned that my local electric co-op, right here in Texas, is planning a huge new solar farm to be paid for with your federal tax money.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

LOL! The CO-OP I speak of has a picture of a huge solar array at the top of their web page. I emailed them recently and told them that all I see in that picture is a hazmat site in waiting.

Solar is more expensive and less relaible that other means of generating electricity.  If Solar was economically viable, it wouldn't need Government subsidies and tax breaks.

The Federal Government is not doing anyone any favors encouraging the construction of more expensive and less reliable sources of electricity generation.  You'll just end up with higher electricity rates, less reliability, and more supply constraints.  It will make doing business more expensive and encourage large employers to move elsewhere.

WE need to STOP paying for this idiocy!

HOUSE OBBB vs. SENATE OBBB. It was not where it needed to be in the House, but it’s markedly worse in the Senate. We are not here to increase deficits, keep Green New Scam subsidies, give tax breaks to high tax blue states, fund transgender surgeries, refuse to expand HSA’s, etc.
