That seems rather anticlimactic.

If she leaves the GOP I'll buy her lunch at a place of her choice.
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

 :yowsa: It surely does.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Just making it formal, huh?

Such a loss.  A real blow to the republican party.  How will they ever recover.  Fetterman.  Can you step up?

Fetterman is the Democrats' 'great white hope'. They just don't see it.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
This is good news.  Since she suggested the idea, I say a swift boot in the posterior to remove her from the party is called for, opening the door for a real Republican with the next election.

Not only that, if the Pubs pick up 3 seats and she's re-elected kick her out of the party.

It won't work, as she's already proven. Murkowski is a big name up in AK.

Funny though, how Tumpy is getting out the long knives for Conservative Massie, but not a peep about liberal Murkowski volunteering to betray. Says volumes.

I don't know. Murkowski is expected behavior from an opponent. Being stabbed in the back by an ally raises a lot of ire. That's how McCain earned so much scorn from conservatives.

'Ally' should be used loosely with this administration. OF COURSE Massie, a fiscal conservative and libertarian stalwart is often opposed... on the same exact grounds that I am. How can you expect anything else?

Calling what Trump did to Iran unconstitutional was not useful, necessary or particularly "conservative". It may violate his libertarian streak, but that doesn't justify calling it unconstitutional. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut for a few days - but he couldn't do it. In short, it was just dumb.

I'll add that is where Ron Paul goes way off the rails. Iran with nukes is no minor thing.

Murky and her family have a lock on AK politics. Very doubtful if any GOP type can overcome her in AK's ranked choice elections. Look up the methods she used in the last election to defeat all challengers.

Take Susan Collins with you, Lisa.

With Republican Senators like that, who needs Dems?

In the light of the fact that I am on the record here stating that Massie is wrong on this:

Massie doesn't see the War Powers Act as legit. In a pretty typical libertarian fashion, he reads the Constitution extremely literally, and figures no way to alter the giving and taking away that it provides - A thing I mostly agree with him on, most of the time.

But the point being, it's a particular bone he has to pick. I expect it out of him, just like I expect him to go off when fiscal matters come up.

Sometimes the dog barks at nothin. It's part of having dogs. But you don't throw the dog away for it. You'll be praising that dog when the bear comes around.
