Report sheds light on why Tulsi Gabbard may have ended up in Trump’s doghouse
June 18, 2025 | Chris Donaldson |

A new report may shed some light on why Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appears to have ended up in President Donald J. Trump’s doghouse as he mulls committing the United States to another war in the Middle East.

According to Politico, the president became “incensed” with the former Democrat congresswoman, who broke with her former party’s warmongering authoritarianism to endorse him, over what was described as an “unauthorized video” that she posted to social media last week.

In the cryptic three-minute clip in which she talked about visiting the Japanese city of Hiroshima that was leveled by an atomic bomb during World War II, Gabbard said that “political elite and warmongers” are “carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers” and that it has the world “on the brink of nuclear annihilation.”

“Trump saw the unauthorized video and became incensed, complaining to associates at the White House that she had spoken out of turn, according to three people familiar with the episode — two of them inside the administration and all granted anonymity to describe sensitive dynamics,” the outlet claimed, relying on the usual anonymous sources that are now a fixture of nearly all mainstream media reporting in America.

“I don’t think he dislikes Tulsi as a person … But certainly the video made him not super hot on her … and he doesn’t like it when people are off message,” one unnamed source said to be a senior administration official was quoted.

I can see why posting such as that would royally piss off the President. It pisses ME off!

I don't have a problem with pointing out the devastation that accompanies the use of a nuclear device.

We should ever keep that in mind when saber rattling reaches the intensity it has over Ukraine or even Iran. Especially in the case of the latter, we should recognize that if the current hostilities result in a nuclear exchange, people who disagree with the current regime there and are powerless to change it will inevitably suffer, as well as anyone attacked if the Iranians strike first.

Such is the lot of those who are at the mercy of their leaders' choices, and that is all of us.

I did not see this as blaming the US for the devices used to end WWII which arguably saved the lives of millions of Japanese and Americans. Anyone who wants to launch into the quagmire of retrospective guilt feelings over the steps taken in past warfare is engaging in folly which will not stop the next all-out conflict from utilizing every means at the disposal of those who either perceive themselves as defending against an existential threat or who feel justified by whatever logic in doing so. Ultimately, it will be the victors who determine what was justifiable or necessary, not the dead.

I didn't have a problem with Gabbard reminding us that these weapons are indeed horrible. But that is the purpose of weapons, to serve as first a deterrent to conflict, and second, to be utilized as necessary to prevail in it if the need arises.

Is another nuclear strike inevitable? Not if cooler heads prevail.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

We had a lot of previous discussion about a year ago, about what might play out when you add dim defectors to the admin.

Here we go.   And just wait until RFKJ starts with his environmental activist bullshit later.

She's in trouble because she testified under oath in March, and shared the assessment of our intelligence community.  Their findings contradicted the war propaganda coming out of Tel Aviv, and yet somehow, Trump has been dog walked into another war for Israel.  He's such a terrible person that when asked about it, he could not simply say "we are on the same page."  She had to clean up his mess.

Gabbard also has an excellent point about the danger of nuclear war.  Russia's nuclear capability has been attacked, and the United States just abused the diplomatic process to pull off a sneak attack on Iran.  The Russians have absolutely no reason to trust anything we say.  We cannot negotiate a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
