In response to demonstrations in Los Angeles marked by arson and clashes with police, California’s congressional delegation has issued strong reactions. Gov. Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass have criticized President Donald Trump's National Guard deployment, questioning its effectiveness. Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) has introduced a resolution urging bipartisan cooperation to restore public order while safeguarding the right to peaceful protest.
