And if Iran strikes at US bases/assets then they will have a direct US response.

I still worry Iran has nuclear weapons. If they do, they'll use them.

1.) Iran does not need nuclear energy.  They have plenty of oil, natural gas, and hydro-electric potential.

2.) Iran has been at war with Israel since 1979, having its proxies do most of the dirty work.

3.) October 7, 2023, made it clear that Iran, via its proxies, is conducting a war of annihilation against Israel and Jews.

4.) Iran is the root cause of most of the instability in the Middle East - Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Islamic Jihad, etc.

5.) Israel is doing what Israel needs to do to survive.  Israel cannot depend on the "international community" just as Ukraine couldn't.

Iran Bans Drone and Missile Supplies to Russia

Following Israel's serious strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, the situation in the Middle East is extremely tense. In the morning, Tehran notified Moscow that it was suspending all arms deliveries to Russia (primarily those that had not been publicly announced). Moreover, Moscow received a request for military assistance. It is not yet clear what kind of assistance Iran has demanded from Russia. But the Kremlin is in no hurry to get involved in an open conflict with Israel.

“A very multi-layered story, where we acted as a mediator between Iran and the United States . We have good military cooperation with Iran. But now they are essentially demanding that we get involved in a conflict. We have no need for this,” a source in the Presidential Administration said.

The interlocutors in the Ministry of Defense noted that the decision on providing assistance to our partners will be made by the president. But the priority is still the implementation of tasks within the framework of the SVO. Therefore, it is unlikely that any serious weapons will be transferred to Iran in the coming days. But there are other mechanisms for assistance.

Putin is asked to join the war against Israel and send specialists to Iran

According to our sources, many influential people in the Kremlin and in the military believe that Russia should directly enter the war with Israel on the side of Iran. “It is clear that this is a difficult question. And this war is to our advantage in some ways, at least in terms of oil prices. But Iran is our partner and ally. Not helping it in the confrontation with Israel would be a sign of weakness. A source in the Ministry of Defense believes that Russia, at a minimum, can send military specialists to Iran or use part of its missile arsenal against Israel. At the same time, it should be noted that most sources are confident that Russia will not enter this war. At least, not openly.

And we may not have enough resources to fully participate in such a war - many are currently being used within the framework of the SVO.

Israel’s massive airstrike attack left Iran’s military leadership in crisis as it killed several senior Iranian commanders — including the head of its Revolutionary Guard.

At least 20 senior Iranian commanders were killed in Israel’s strikes on Iran on Friday, sources said. Six nuclear scientists have also been confirmed killed in the strikes.

US forces assisting Israel amid missile attack

Senior U.S. officials tell Fox News that American forces are assisting Israel to shoot down Iranian missiles.

"There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens and other American assets in Israel and the U.S. is working to protect them," the official said in a statement.

Fox News chief national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported that there are two U.S. Navy destroyers, the USS Sullivans and USS Arleigh Burke, in the Eastern Mediterranean.

A regional security source tells Fox News the third wave of Iranian missile launches is now complete.

WASHINGTON, June 13 (Reuters) - After months of urging Israel not to strike Iran while he worked toward a nuclear deal, President Donald Trump told Reuters in a phone interview on Friday that he and his team had known the attacks were coming - and still saw room for an accord.
"We knew everything, and I tried to save Iran humiliation and death. I tried to save them very hard because I would have loved to have seen a deal worked out," Trump said.

"They can still work out a deal, however, it’s not too late," he added.
Trump had repeatedly pushed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to delay an Israeli attack to give diplomacy more time, though the president himself had threatened to bomb the Gulf nation if nuclear talks failed.

It's wonderful to know Israel can conduct precisely targeted attacks, and with such success.  Hopefully, they're able to expand the use of such techniques to the Gaza Strip.  This could go a long way toward rehabilitating their global reputation.

Israel’s military headquarters may have been struck after Iran’s Islamic Republic unleashed a barrage of missiles on central Tel Aviv late Friday night.

Alarming footage shared on social media — and verified by The New York Times — showed a strike slamming into an area that houses several military sites, including the Israel Defense Forces’ main command center.

The videos suggest that at least one Iranian missile breached Israel’s air defenses and hit a sensitive command site in the heart of Tel Aviv.

Israel, in 2021, built its new IDF supreme command post in the heart of Tel Aviv, buried beneath blocks of civilian buildings.

Called the "Fortress of Zion," it was deliberately placed so it couldn't be attacked without seeming to target civilian sites.
