Baltic Countries Press for NATO and EU Action on Ukraine: “Its Future Is in NATO”

The Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian foreign affairs committees issued a joint statement from Birstonas, Lithuania, on Friday supporting Ukraine amid Russia’s full-scale invasion, and its membership in the EU and NATO.

“We call on the upcoming 2025 NATO Summit [at the end of June] in The Hague to take concrete political steps that would pave the way for Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance,” the statement reads.

Ukraine’s victory over Russia’s aggression and Ukrainian membership in NATO would consolidate a just and lasting peace not only in Ukraine but also in all of Europe and help preserve the rules-based international order globally, it says.

Maybe if they had let Ukraine (and Georgia) join NATO in 2010 instead of rejecting them, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Not only were they not allowed in NATO, Ukraine was swindled into to giving up nukes with the promise of 'protection' by Western nations.
