I disagree.
I predict that the violence and riots will continue to escalate, UNTIL something like a Kent State moment happens.
People are going to have to be shot -- and killed -- before others realize that this can be "a losing game" if they keep "playing".
I'll go FURTHER than "Kent State".
If these antifa/anti-ice riots continue to spread and intensify, we are going to need a "Tianenmen Square" style response to send them packing.
It worked back then.

There is a broad table set with delectable but poisonous dishes that would all seem to sate the hunger to strike back at the illegals, the rioters (from years back), the Left media, and the traitorous politicians and others who lend their time from the business of allegedly running America for Americans to undercut our laws, our Constitution, and our values.
Even the Blacks and those of Latin heritage who are here legally are being shoved aside with other Americans to pander to the illegals that the Biden Administration (whoever was running that sh*tshow) brought here in droves, in rampant violation of our laws. To add insult to that injury, billions of dollars worth of benefits have been diverted from Americans, and even disabled veterans have been kicked out into the streets, to lavish lucrative benefits on those who should not even be here.
Choose carefully from that table. The wrong choice could so poisonous as to end the Republic.
The sad part of Kent State is that the media used it to further impugn the Armed Forces they'd been hating on for years (during the Vietnam war). They used it to further unrest, and to denigrate those who served. That stigma lasted for decades for some. But then, in spite of the rapid shift to the Left, even the Media did not blame the President. There was not the atmosphere of widespread division and hate there is now, and no matter how much flack Nixon got, it wasn't the situation America is in today. The communists simply had not made the inroads into our culture and schools to muddle the brains of enough Americans to get away with what is happening in the past 5 years.
With that in mind, consider:
Lethal Force is only commonly considered justified in the face of lethal force, to protect lives, not any but the most secret or strategic military assets.
L.A. Is expendable. (Sorry, folks, you voted for this, and have tolerated it, and if you haven't left yet, that's on you.)
Without justification for Lethal Force, if used, the whole 'Trump-Dictator' nonsense would grow by leaps and bounds, here and abroad. We have been hearing it for years, but now they would have something they could point at.
The original issue, that of removing criminal illegal aliens from our country, would be blown right out of the News and Commentary (same thing) cycle in the MSM, and in international media as well.
And that is the original objective:
Removing those here illegally, violent and nasty bastards first, and anyone who gets caught up in that as well (just a bonus). Considering how we are
still hearing the 'Russia, Russia, Russia' crap, the rest of this administration would be a constant harangue about whatever incident could be portrayed as 'Trump's Fault'. I would not put it past the opposition to even go so far as to seriously injure or kill a few "innocents" in a false flag operation to try to pin blame on Trump, LEOs, and the National Guard.
Short of an incident that is well beyond the ordinary 'chimp out' and throwing (even potentially lethal) things, any lethal response would be difficult to justify, even with a sympathetic press, and would be used, through media distortion, to strip the current administration of legitimacy in the eyes of voters and the world. That sort of disease is contagious and would have milquetoast ("moderate",
squish, compromised, what
ever) Republicans in Congress bailing out of anything resembling conservatism even faster than they do now.
Unfortunately, all that can be done
without damned good reason, is to contain the riots and damage as best as is possible, let the violence and destruction speak for themselves, and hope it burns itself out. That isn't just an ugly option, but it may be the only viable one.
In the meantime, track every dime backing this mess and go after the money people. Freeze and seize their assets. Arrest them. Whoever they are. Make their lawyers justify their actions. Screw sympathetic appeals. No more visitors than a J6 detainee. Use whatever force is necessary.
Now, it has crossed my mind that while the police are busy trying to contain all this, if private efforts were to lose patience and attack rioters from another direction, that would just be more violent criminal activity (in a city (or cities) famous for it) and unrelated to the LEOs.
The LEOs might be unable to respond because they were busy with the rioters (who hampered traffic flow, etc.) and the vigilantes just might get away with it.
Hard to do in a surveillance society, but perhaps not impossible.
But in the event there are lethal events, the LEOs have to be accounted for and demonstrably innocent of such to prevent the Administration and LEOs getting the blame (not that the media will not try). While I have no doubt the crowds would fold and flee under live fire, (at least those who could), It is a last resort, to be used only if the lives of the LEOs were under a definite and immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury. The scene would have to be secured, weapons seized, etc. or the evidence would be scrubbed like a trans school shooter's social media by the locals (either to cover for the rioters, or to grab the weapons for personal use/sale). People who would loot a Hallmark store will damned sure pick up weapons as a 'souvenir'.
When more violent means were used in the 60s, to bring Atlanta, Newark, Chicago, and others under control, the press (especially in most riot torn towns) was plenty sympathetic to those bringing events under control. That dynamic was less clear by Kent State, and has definitely shifted now, along with media demographics, with most media supporting the rioters and completely avoiding the seminal issues of this being perpetrated by people who are already here illegally, doing even more illegal things.
Only the seriously stupid or well compensated would back that, but we have no shortage of either in this battle space, and the anti-American media are waiting with baited breath for that incident they can run with. A couple of rubber bullet bruises aren't going to do it.
There are no pretty options on the menu, but there are plenty of options which would prove toxic to this administration, and injure foreign policy as well. So be careful what you wish for.
