Judge Charles Breyer stayed his temporary restraining order from taking effect until 3 p.m. ET on Friday to allow the Trump administration to appeal his decision. The administration promptly did just that, asking the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to block Breyer’s ruling from taking effect.

Which makes me wonder if it was really necessary to do in the first place. These little riots usually piddle out after a few days, and the police are able to contain it, and the locals apparently don't care.

My take is, Judge Breyer (the SCOTUS Breyer's little brother) went way out on a limb with this ridiculous ruling, which, if allowed to stand, will open a huge Pandora's Box concerning a president's plenary power as Commander in Chief of the regular military and militia forces called up under his command.  The 9th Circuit was forced to quickly stay that ruling, kick the can into next week, and then moot it.
 
If Breyer's order was allowed to stand, then a President would effectively lose command to the Judiciary over how and when the country's military forces can be called up and deployed.  Only Congress can do that, and with the president's approval.

Noem, flanked by law enforcement and federal officials, announced that the Internal Revenue Service has been deployed to trace the money behind the chaos — including potential funding from radical NGOs, militant unions, and other shadowy groups.

“We also have the IRS here, helping us track how these violent protesters are funded—what NGOs are out there, what unions, what other individuals may be funding these violent perpetrators who infiltrate protests,” Noem said during the press conference.

“They take people who may be wanting to come and be peaceful, but instead turn these into very violent activities that go after law enforcement. That’s just simply not acceptable.”

White House border czar Tom Homan shared new details on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids that set off organized leftist attacks on federal agents and multiple days of rioting in Los Angeles.

Despite misinformation advanced by California Governor Gavin Newsom and other California officials, many of whom have claimed violence erupted only after President Donald Trump deployed National Guard personnel, the unrest began on Friday when federal agents came under sustained attack while conducting operations in the city’s fashion district.

Agents were later cornered in a federal building while members of the mob attacked them with rocks, clubs, hammers and fireworks. The violence escalated on Saturday, when agents were nearly killed by rioters tossing large rocks at moving vehicles.

During a recent appearance on “Dr. Phil Primetime,” Homan shared new details on the raid that led to the unrest that is still ongoing and spreading throughout the country.

“This warehouse and retail outlet that you served warrants on, the belief is and the evidence suggests that this is a cartel-related business here in the United States. That this money, the $80 million that they are suspected of undervaluing the double-digit millions in tariffs that they are suspected and will be charged with violations on income tax evasion,” Dr. Phil began.

“You believe that all of that is for, is benefiting an illegal cartel, a cartel in Mexico or Colombia, do you know which cartel?”

Homan refused to provide details on the exact cartel in question, though he did note that the raid was tied to a larger investigation. “No, it’s a larger investigation, and this company is one of many that we’re searching and gathering evidence on the fact that much of the money in this industry is laundered to Colombia and Mexico in support of cartel activities,” the White House border czar explained.

CNN security analyst goes against Dem narrative with full-throttled defense of DHS Sec. Noem

A CNN analyst, much to his credit, rushed to the defense of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her security entourage Thursday after they detained a misbehaving Democrat senator.

Security correspondent Josh Campbell argued outright that Noem’s entourage had been 100 percent in the right to forcefully stop Sen. Alex Padilla, when he rudely crashed a DHS press conference in Los Angeles.

“From a law enforcement perspective, we’re really looking at three separate incidents that happened within a short period of time,” he began on CNN. “First, you have the DHS secretary who was addressing the press. This was not a Q&A period, and she was interrupted.”

“She was interrupted by someone who was speaking very loudly. And so her security detail confronts what we obviously now know to be the senator. And at that point, he is now going to be escorted out. You can’t interrupt something like that that’s already in progress without having those consequences,” he added.
