More than 70 illegal immigrants arrested in ICE operation at cartel-run night club
 
Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Sunday arrested 72 illegal immigrants at an underground night club run by a suspected Mexican cartel member near Charleston, South Carolina.

Prior to the bust, ICE officials received reports that “The Alamo” club, which was being run by the Los Zetas cartel, formerly known as Cartel del Noreste, was a hotbed for human trafficking, narcotics, and weapons. During the operation, authorities seized cash, drugs, firearms, as well as six juveniles who were turned over to state social services.
 
“Day in and day out, the brave men and women of ICE are working with local law enforcement to keep American communities safe," Assistant Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a Tuesday statement announcing the operation. “The successful operation that took place in the Charleston area resulted in more than 70 arrests of illegal aliens—including an international murder suspect and the dismantling of a nightclub run by a suspected cartel member where drug, weapon, and human trafficking were taking place.”
