Nah
But there’s four pages of a thread dedicated to a girl with a disability who, according to her parents, has suffered with depression that includes making fun of her personal appearance who is causing no harm to anyone here
She can’t hurt you or others here. No reason to fear her or make her a subject worth discussing or dedicating a thread to
I guess I don’t derive pleasure from making fun of people with disabilities like some here do.
But that’s me. And even if I didn’t have a child who is on the autistic spectrum, I would still feel the same. And if that makes me a liberal in your eyes, call me Bernie Sanders
You were silent until I posted something in her defense, which I happily and gloriously stand by, and all of a sudden, you decide to chime in to make me the subject
Funny how spokespeople take the heat for their 'cause', isn't it?
I don't know about her personal or mental health, nor where she lands on what spectrum, nor, frankly, do I care.
If someone is going to stand at a podium (or wherever) and deal out heat, they'd best be ready for the return blast.
She, or her handlers, has spent years lecturing those of us who understand the basics of energy supplies and needs on how evil we are for not embracing the Green New
suicide pact deal, and then dashed off to the next dose of whatever you want to call it that is a 'fix' for attention whores.
It is interesting to follow the careers of poster children, like David Hogg, for instance, and see where they end up when they are no longer useful to sell the latest nonsense to their followers. That, like it or not, is a form of politics, because the whole purpose is to influence the populations who influence the people who make policy--which by the transitive property of BS is
to influence policy.
How many thoughtfully agree with that policy is irrelevant if the media can prop up the false front that there is some sort of consensus that supports it.
So, yes, as sad a state of affairs as that is, these poster children do have a disproportionate say in what affects our real world, especially with the media making them darlings for the cause du jour, and their behaviour should be tracked, as with any negative influence on global (yes, global) policy.
She, or her handlers, has embraced her role, and as a public figure, is fair game for commentary.
