One of the most pervasive myths is that 97% (or sometimes stated as >99%) of “climate scientists” agree that virtually all global warming since the mid-19th century is human-caused and that this warming is an existential threat to the welfare of the planet and all life on it.

Except, this statistic is largely made up, and no matter how many times it is quashed, it persists as a talking point in online forums. Just yesterday, I received a comment, saying,

So, is this the same @NASA that lost 14 astronauts between two manned space shuttle launch failures in 1986 and 2003? Or the same NASA that recently enlisted @SpaceX’s help to get astronauts stuck in space back to Earth? That NASA?

That alleged consensus is and always was bullshit. Hammer the data through the hole and throw out what doesn't fit, redifine who counts, etc. Just like altering climate data and cherry picking it to come up with the whole AGW crock.

It's no more "science" than Fauci.

It's charlatanry, started to push the Midwest Carbon Exchange, which stood to make (literally) trillions of dollars for the likes of George Soros, Al Gore, and Maurice Strong if they could have gotten the legislation passed to require carbon credits.

Industry abandoned America in the face of that trend, and the continuing climate doomsday predictions and propaganda have wreaked their havoc on this country.

Consensus is a socio-political construct; not a scientific one.

Just because an alleged 97% agree with something does not mean it's correct nor that it will withstand scrutiny.

Nobody wants to be that 5th dentist - the only one that doesn't recommned Dentyne sugarless gum to his patients.  The other 4 dentists give him noogies and atomic wedgies.

Do not know how it can be "debunked" since it was never 'bunked' in the first place.

The only people who pushed this were governments, hollywood, billionaires, researchers (of course), and their gimp slave media puppets.
