During a high-profile meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, President Donald Trump once again displayed zero tolerance for rude reporters. Ever since taking office in January 2025, the commander-in-chief has taken no prisoners when members of the press have acted out of line, banning some networks and publications from attending press events.
Journalists from left-leaning publications like CNN and MSNBC have routinely been a thorn in the side of the president, often allowing their political bias to dominate their interactions with him. This has consistently led to a state of high tension between the administration and the media.
NBC News reporter Peter Alexander was booted from the meeting between Trump and Ramaphosa held in the Oval Office for being rude, with the president referring to the individual as a “disgrace.”
The reporter asked Trump about previous statements he’s made about alleged violence being perpetrated against white farmers from South Africa. The commander-in-chief responded by reiterating his concerns and then slammed the journalist for biased coverage.
The incident was a reminder of the longstanding battle between Trump and mainstream media outlets, especially NBC and its affiliates. Talking heads and anchors from these networks have consistently portrayed the president in an unfair manner.
