Newsom’s War On Oil Could Send California Gas Prices To $9, Analyst Warns
Gov. Newsom has demonized the oil industry for years, blaming it for high gas prices instead of his policies.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s hostility to the oil industry could lead to the closure of local refineries, which, in turn, could push gas prices past $6 per gallon, or even $9 per gallon, a local analyst has warned. [emphasis, links added]


Local ABC affiliate KABC-7 reported:

The Phillips 66 Refinery in Los Angeles could close by the end of this year, which would send prices skyrocketing above $6, according to USC Professor Michael Mische.

Mische added that if the Valero Refinery in the Bay Area closes by the end of next year, that could send gas prices soaring close to $9 a gallon.



In response to the expected closures, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s spokesperson told KFMB-TV that the governor has directed the state to intensify collaboration with refineries to maintain a stable and affordable gasoline supply.

Is $9 or $10 a gallon too much to ask from Californites to save the earth and rid it of Big Oil?

According to post from James Wood on FB, Gov Newsom just increased the state tax on gasoline another $0.65 per gallon.

When gasoline gets to $9-10 per gallon, fewer internal combustion engine cars will exist in California, that is certain, but what will also happen is massive flight by largely middle class folks who cannot afford California any longer.  To date, it is wealthier folks fleeing CA for Texas, Florida and Tennessee, but when the middle class begin seeking a more stable economic climate, CA will lose millions.

But from my view, the CA people deserve what they get, for they keep voting these Democommies into office, and they only know one thing, spend, spend, spend!!!

I think California may have reached the tipping point, at least in the coastal cities, where the parasites outvote their hosts.

California's GDP is higher than most countries.  Californians are all better off than the rest of America, 9 dollar gas to them is like 2 dollar gas  for us.  California will be fine.

More likely, California will make it illegal to leave California.  Or at least to move money out of the State.

More likely, California will make it illegal to leave California.  Or at least to move money out of the State.

Pretty hard to do with interstate banking, not to mention international banking. Not to mention converting to cash - At some point, the street will be offering better points than the banks or the state does, and then, Katie bar the door.

The ONLY thing to tie someone down is real estate.

The collapse of California will come when enough people have fled the state, and there is no one to buy houses for sale.  The RE market will collapse which will cause an even greater flood of people fleeing the state.  Plus, the entertainment arena has been fleeing for some time, with more productions being filmed overseas.  The flight will be steady, and if ever we get a conservative Congress, and they do away with the inclusion of illegal invading aliens in the counts to determine House seat districts, CA will lose I am guessing 7-8 seats in Congress.
