The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog said on Tuesday that North Korea’s nuclear weapons program has grown “exponentially,” and urged talks between Washington and Pyongyang.


Since taking office in January, U.S. President Donald Trump has said the U.S. is in “communication” with North Korea and that Washington “may do something” with Pyongyang.

“I have been saying that we need to engage,” said Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA.
 
“You cannot have a country like this which is completely off the charts with its nuclear arsenal,” he said at an event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations, a U.S. thinktank.

North Korea’s nuclear program, said Grossi, has “spawned exponentially” and it is currently building a third enrichment facility – a crucial part of building nuclear bombs.

Does anyone believe for one second Kim Dung Ugh would be honest with a UN representative?  I'd trust  a report from Shakira more. :tongue2:

I wouldn't bet a war on it, but as an objective observer I would guess that like Russia, they claim to have hundreds of missiles but they do not work.

In dictatorial nations, frequently the military will make over exaggerated claims to the government just for the awards and bonuses while knowing or at least hoping the weapons will never be used.

I'd guess the Chinese are backing their efforts, with the intention of using them as a proxy if it comes to nuclear war.

I have yet to see any evidence that North Korea even has a nuke.  When Pakistan developed a nuke, they set one off for the world to see.  Then they set off five more just to show India they had more.  When North Korea allegedly set theirs off, they did so inside a cave, hidden from view.  The explosion was less than the 1945 bombs.
