Fourteen Maine Lawmakers Condemn Their Own State Over Women’s Sports

Education Secretary Linda McMahon recently warned entities allowing transgender athletes in girls' and women’s sports that the Trump administration will enforce policies prohibiting biological males from competing in female events. Recent tensions have arisen as 14 Maine state senators condemned Governor Janet Mills for supporting trans inclusion in women’s sports, claiming the policies violate federal laws. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has frozen funding to the state due to these conflicts.
