Yale Terminates Scholar Amid Pro-Hamas Probe
The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, sanctioned by the U.S. and Canada for its connections to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), has raised concerns due to its activities, including pro-Hamas protests and ties to extremist groups. Yale Law School recently terminated Iranian scholar Helyeh Doutaghi, accusing her of failing to cooperate with an investigation into her alleged association with Samidoun. Doutaghi denies any affiliation, claiming Yale has failed to provide evidence to support the allegations.
Doutaghi argued her inclusion on a listing for a canceled online panel discussion sponsored by Samidoun in late 2024 does not reflect any connection. She claimed she is not tied to groups violating U.S. law.
Doutaghi said, “This has become part of the fascism that is unfolding in this country, that people who dare to speak up against genocide and the U.S. support for it and complicity in it, they have to expect to pay the price with their careers, with their livelihoods, with their jobs, students with their degrees, as we’ve seen at Columbia, we’ve seen at Cornell and elsewhere.”
