Update - Dallas PD and Dallas ISD PD are working to clear the school buildings. A command post has been set up and multiple ambulances are on scene.

IIRC it is a shithole of a school in a shithole area of SW dallas.  I read where a year ago today they had a shooting.  Must be a family tradition.

#BREAKING: @DallasFireRes_q
 says it has assigned 11 ambulances/rescue units to the shooting call at Wilmer Hutchins High School.  NO confirmation at all that that many people have been hurt.  @CBSNewsTexas

There is a very active scene at the Wilmer-Hutchins campus. PARENTS/ COMMUNITY members are being urged to NOT come to the campus. More info to come but law enforcement are urging people not to come to campus. @FOX4

DALLAS — A teenager was shot in the leg after reports of gunfire at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas prompted a large police response Tuesday afternoon, a Dallas Fire-Rescue source told WFAA.

The source said an active shooter call prompted the response, which was unfolding just after 1 p.m. at Wilmer-Hutchins, which is located on Langdon Road off Interstate 20 in Southeast Dallas.

By 1:45 p.m., the active threat had ended, a source told WFAA. By 2:15 p.m., the campus had been secured, according to Dallas Independent School District officials. ...

At least four students were injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas.

A 17-year-old was shot in the leg, according to reporting by FOX 4 Dallas.

Two other students were shot and one was grazed, according to the report. Their ages range from 15 to 18.

One of the victims has "serious injuries" and the others' injuries are none life-threatening, according to FOX 4.

The Dallas Independent School District (DISD) said the school was "secured" in an update shared just after 2 p.m.

Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins said someone "opened the door" to the suspect.

Atkins said DISD is "aware" of the suspect's identity, but it is unclear if there have been any arrests.

The shooting happened at about 1:25 p.m., according to a statement from DISD.

"Safety protocols have been implemented, and we are asking everyone to refrain from coming to the campus," according to the statement.
