A Frisco, Texas, judge’s decision to release 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, suspected of murdering a fellow student at a track meet, has sparked powerful emotions.

Anthony, a Frisco Centennial High School student, allegedly stabbed Austin Metcalf to death on April 2.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, was a beloved athlete who excelled in track and football. His tragic death has left his family and community heartbroken.

On Monday, Judge Angela Tucker of the 199th District Court in Collin County reduced Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000, according to WFAA-TV.

During the hearing, prosecutors asked his father Andrew Anthony why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son's defense to pay the original $1million bond, which was reduced to $250,000 on Monday.

Just 10 percent of that amount must be paid, meaning Anthony will likely be free very soon.

Andrew Anthony said the fund was to be used for Anthony's legal defense. But he also disclosed that the cash would be used for security and to help the family move after the threats they have allegedly faced since the killing.

The revelation comes after a spokesperson for the family said they can't leave their after their address was leaked online, leading to 'graphic and racist threats,' which included images of 'black children with knives stuck in their head.'

Anthony's attorney Michael Howard said, regarding the money: 'It would be disingenuous to say there isn’t money... But it is not a bond fund. This family needs to be able to survive.' ...

How insane is 2025? A 17-year-old allegedly murdered a fellow student and managed to parlay that into almost half a million dollars in donations, and what he did with the money will shock and disgust you.

As RedState reported, Karmelo Anthony confessed to stabbing and killing Austin Metcalf after an altercation at an athletic event. According to witnesses, Anthony came into Metcalf's tent and refused to leave when requested. Anthony then "dared" someone to touch him. In a sign of just how depraved society has become, the case immediately became a racial issue despite Anthony, who is black, being the one who allegedly murdered Metcalf. Donations poured into Anthony's GoFundMe campaign for his "legal defense," and posts like this were made calling for "justice," not for the boy who was killed, but for the alleged killer.

Now, we know what Anthony and his family did with a good portion of the money they received. According to a new report, they bought a new car and moved into a $900,000 home in a gated community. No, I'm not kidding. They took money intended for his "legal defense" and hit the upgrade button with it.

The Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing a high school football star at a track meet allegedly lives in a $900K home inside a luxurious gated community — despite requesting a judge lower his $1 million bond because of financial difficulties, according to a report.

Karmelo Anthony, 17, is shacked up with his family at the pricey home inside the gated community of Richwoods in Frisco, Texas, after he was released from jail Monday on a reduced $250,000 bond for allegedly killing Austin Metcalf earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported.

The home — where rent is estimated to be $3,500 a month — had a white Suburban, a black Acura, and a third sedan in the driveway on Tuesday, according to the outlet.

It doesn’t matter what video surfaces. Self-defense is off the table—Anthony was committing a felony by bringing a weapon onto school grounds. In Texas, you lose the right to claim self-defense if you’re in the middle of committing another crime.

The second tweeter raises a good point. Has he been charged with having the weapon on school grounds?

Why did Anthony, who supposedly was at the track meet because his team was competing, take a knife to the meet? Was he on his own school's track team? If so, why wasn't he sitting with his teammates? Instead, he purposefully went to another school's seating area and plopped himself down in the midst of his competitors.

I've been to dozens of high school and college track meets. Teams sit together in their own space. Always. Anyone who is not a member of that team, whether just a spectator or a member of another team, would not just saunter over and plop himself down in their area. He tried to provoke this attack. If Metcalf did touch Anthony on the arm or on his backpack when he told him not to sit there, there was no "self defense" right to respond with a lethal weapon.

The mother of Texas teen murder suspect Karmelo Anthony broke down in tears on Thursday over the death threats she claims her family has suffered and the “false information” about the family flooding social media.

Kayla Hays, the suspect’s mother, told reporters that her family has become the target of threats and that their lives have been disrupted by misinformation.

“In the wake of this tragic incident, our family has been under attack. Whatever you think happened between Carmelo and the Metcalf boy — my three other children, my husband and I — didn’t do anything to deserve to be threatened, harassed, and lied about,” she said, according to KWTX-TV.

“The lies and false accusations that have been said about us have been overwhelming, and the lies put our family in danger,” she continued.

Hays blasted the “lies and false accusations” that she says have “been overwhelming.”

She also said, through tears, that her husband had to take a leave of absence from work due to the unrest.

“My husband had to take a leave of absence because he’s afraid of what may happen to our family. His mental health is deteriorating day by day,” she exclaimed.

CLAIM: The “Minister” representing Karmelo Anthony claimed Kyle Rittenhouse shot BLM rioters ‘in the back’ with an AK-47.

VERDICT: False in numerous ways.

Rittenhouse shot and killed two people and wounded a third in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 202o. He was charged with two counts of murder and one charge of attempted murder and was acquitted of all charges on November 19, 2021.

Contrary to “Minister” Dominique Alexander’s claim, Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-15, not an AK-47. Moreover, the person he shot and wounded, Gaige Paul Grosskreutz, was shot in the arm, not in the back.

The Associated Press noted that during Rittenhouse’s trial, Grosskreutz admitted that he was a pointing a gun at Rittenhouse when Rittenhouse shot him.

So…Rittenhouse did not shoot anyone with an AK-17–he was carrying an AR-15–and he shot Grosskreutz in the arm, not the back.

"Why didn't you cancel or postpone with weather in that magnitude?"

A representative for Karmelo Anthony placed blame on the Frisco Independent School District (ISD) as well as the weather for the murder suspect stabbing Austin Metcalf to death at a Texas track meet earlier this month.

While Dominique Alexander was speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said that "Frisco ISD is trying to push off the blame" because the school district is taking steps to expel Anthony, insinuating that the school district was to blame for the stabbing.

FIRST ON FOX: A spokesperson for the family of the 17-year-old boy accused of stabbing Frisco, Texas, track star Austin Metcalf to death has a long history of supporting defunding the police as well as close ties to former Squad Rep. Cori Bush.

Minister Dominique Alexander, a Dallas-based defund the police activist and social justice leader, has been in the headlines in recent days as he and his organization, Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), have been rallying in defense of the family of 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, the teenager who is accused of fatally stabbing Metcalf, and Anthony himself.

"The Next Generation Action Network is currently working with the Anthony family to get the bond processed and will keep the community updated regarding his release," NGAN posted on X earlier this week after the bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. "We want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming support you have shown. This is just the beginning of a long legal journey, and we will continue to stand strong in defense of Karmelo’s rights."

Alexander hosted a press conference on Thursday and slammed the father of the victim for being a "disrespect to the dignity of his son" after he showed up to the press conference that he was "not invited" to, according to Alexander.

"That was disrespectful and just shows you all the character," he continued. "He was not invited. He knows that it's inappropriate to be near this family, but he did it. So, I say to people, actions speak louder than words."

Alexander's comments immediately went viral Thursday across social media, which led to online sleuths resurfacing his long criminal record, which has been documented in multiple local reports dating back over a decade. A Fox News Digital review also exposes his longtime support for defunding the police and his ties to the former "Squad" House Democrat and defund-the-police activist Cori Bush, who was defeated last year during her Democratic primary.

Alexander's X and Facebook accounts reveal that he and NGAN played a pivotal role in helping mobilize on behalf of Bush's winning campaigns in 2020 and 2022. In 2020, Bush praised Alexander and his group for their "perseverance & dedication" and said their "[commitment] to the work" is "unmatched."

"Thanks to Minister [Dominique Alexander] & @NextGenAction for your tireless work & bravery," Bush said in 2019.

I have seen the claim a few times on 'X' that he (Rittenhouse) killed three blacks. The 'facks' are being mutilated to serve the litany of hate that is coming out of the mouths of those trying to justify this murder. The people trying to renew their race cards are desperate and are the biggest sources of racism and hate out there.
As long as the culture tries to paint murderers as victims and closes ranks around them, they will inherit all the misery they have coming.
