San Diego is hit by monster earthquake as terrifying videos emerge

San Diego has been rocked by an enormous earthquake Monday morning.

Initial reports put the earthquake's magnitude at a whopping 6.7. It has since been reported by the US Geological as 5.2 and 6.

The earthquake struck around 10 a.m. PT and was felt across Southern California, including across Los Angeles, reported Fox 11.

An emergency alert was sent out warning residents, 'Earthquake Detected! Drop, Cover, Hold On. Protect Yourself.'

Video obtained by ABC 10 showed the quake rattled homes and light fixtures. Other clips on social media showed computers and TVs rocked by the jolt.

Footage from NBC 7 showed a woman jump off the couch, grab her baby and run to safety when the tremble struck. Another video showed a terrified cat watch its house shake during the quake.

The quake's epicenter was recorded 2.49 miles south of Julian, according to KCAL.

At least seven aftershocks, including one 3.9 magnitude shake, were reported. It is unknown if there are reports of injuries or damage.

Was on a golf in Vallejo Ca. Earthquake. Could not see what was happing. Golf course is all flat, no buildings or anything.

What a weird feeling, when the ground starts moving. You cannot know it until it happens. You will remember.

Oh my.  I was just practicing conversational ASL last week in an online group with a gentleman from CA who taught me the sign for earthquake.

We had an quake in Dallas when I live there. I thought my wife was getting frisky.  In the morning found  I lost a couch pillow.

Um, not exactly San Diego, it was centered more at Julian, a more or less tourist city 60 miles away and with a population of 1350.

Here is video of a TV reporter going into a liquor store to talk about the damage and you will notice that the shelves are still loaded with bottles. I will say that I was in Westminster, CA, about a hundred miles away on the second floor of anhospita and it swayed gently.

Oh yeah I forgot, monster earthquake?  :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: I guess I will cut the Daily Mail some slack, but no one in California would call it a monster quake.
