A married Catholic school teacher has made the outrageous claim that her husband's 'neglect' prompted her to have sex with a 17-year-old pupil.

Emily Nutley, 43, has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery over a physical relationship with a student at the Ohio school in November and December 2023, according to Daily News.

The mother-of-three and former teacher at Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School was indicted in October 2024 after the victim came forward about the abuse.

A few weeks after the indictment, Nutley's husband Jonathan Nutley filed for divorce, triggering his wife to accuse him of 'gross neglect of duty and extreme cruelty'.

She claimed in court this week that this 'neglect' made her abuse the child, according to the Daily News. 

Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers previously told DailyMail.com Nutley met the victim when he was sent to a program she ran for academically struggling pupils.

They began texting after school hours last fall, and she allegedly sent him nude selfies and 'sexually explicit messages'.

Powers alleged their relationship escalated to them having sex several times in mid-November, at least once in her office at the all-boys school after hours.

No, it isn't supposed to happen.

But as a graduate of an all male private school, I can understand the students checking out their female teachers...BTDT.

Still, adolescent fantasies aside, it would not be so hard for a reasonably attractive female teacher to find an interested young man (16-17-18 years old).

And that's not even getting into the Professor/grad student things that go on. (I know, they are adults, but often there is some sort of adultery going on there.)

A male's sexual drive tends to peak in their teens and early 20s... a woman's can peak during her 30's to early 40's in some cases.... but maturity and morals should carry most married couples through this... not always it seems.
