Trump Raises Logging Quota 25% to Harvest Timber, Prevent Fires

The Trump administration has raised logging quotas 25% in America’s national forests as part of a bid to increase timber production in the face of tariffs — and to prevent fires by removing fuel and creating firebreaks.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

    In a move that could substantially reshape California’s natural landscape, the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued an emergency order Friday to accelerate timber harvesting across nearly 113 million acres of national forests.

    The directive, announced by USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, mandates a 25% increase in timber quotas nationwide, with particular focus on areas of California, including the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Los Padres and Cleveland national forests.

Anyone check with a federal judge on this.  There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees.  Will a judge side with the maples or the oak trees Or ignore their pleas?

Don't worry, Judge Boasberg was just assigned the case by random lotto! It doesn't matter if it's not his jurisdiction, or that anyone hasn't filed a lawsuit yet, he's on the job and he's gonna stop Trump!

*just* to put the mills back into operation is a HUGE investment. Not to mention cats and skidders and prentiss loaders and road equipment, and roads, and tons and tons of logging trucks.

Shutting off federal timber sales is what destroyed it. And it is going to take a hella big fed commitment across many decades to put it back. Twenty/fifty years of guarantees to make those moneybags want to go there.

Just because Tumpy ordains things from his golden diaz don't mean sh*t. Fake AF.

Mr. M nearly had a heart attack the other day when he went to buy an ordinary sheet of plywood the other day. I can't imagine how homebuilding costs have risen in the past few years, given the price of lumber.
