“Suspected Non-Citizen” Charged in DUI Truck Crash That Injured Arizona Trooper

: Arizona Department of Public Safety

An Arizona state trooper was seriously injured when a “suspected non-citizen” driving a commercial vehicle while under the influence of alcohol slammed into a parked patrol car this week, according to reports.

The harrowing incident unfolded at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Buckeye, AZ.

An Arizona Highway Patrol State Trooper was sitting in his vehicle roughly 20 feet off the I-10 highway when a large pickup truck and trailer slammed into his vehicle.

“A white Dodge Ram 3500 truck, towing a vehicle trailer with three vehicles on board, traveled off right and off the highway and collided with the trooper’s vehicle at a significant speed. As a result of the collision, the trooper’s vehicle was pushed further off right approximately 60 feet,” the Arizona Department of Public Safety announced in press release.

So, by implication, it would have been hunky-dory if the offending drunk driver had been a “suspected citizen”?
