Had to add the parenthetical to the title. She's in talks to portray the lion, Aslan, who is the very representation of Jesus Christ.
Netflix, of course.

An offer has been made to Meryl Streep to portray a central character in the series: Aslan, the Great Lion. Streep is in talks to portray Aslan, who will be female in the series. Aslan in the novels is a talking lion who serves as Narnia’s guardian and a mentor to the human children. Typically portrayed as a male, Aslan was created as an allegory for Jesus by author C.S. Lewis. ...

The film, written and to be directed by Greta Gerwig, will adapt the sixth novel in the series, The Magician’s Nephew, which chronologically takes place first in the series. The novel tells the origin of Narnia and is centered on Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer who discover the magical world through Digory’s uncle’s magic. The role of Digory’s uncle, Andrew, is currently eyeing Daniel Craig, as reported by Deadline in March 2025. The novel also introduces Jadis, who goes on to become the White Witch, a role which is eyeing Charli XCX, also reported by Deadline earlier this month. ...

Narnia is a story written by a Christian author with deep themes tied to his faith. Aslan the Lion was meant to be portrayal of what Jesus would be like. Turning him into a woman is just wrong. Hollywood would once again be trying to make Christian art woke. Stop it @netflix

Aslan is a representation of the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ. Aslan is a male.
Please Hollywood, stop rewriting history, dishonoring lore & disrespecting the Christian faith…

With Leftists, it is never about 'making money'. It is always about pushing a 'message'. They are evangelists.
The 'message' is more important than money. (Disney, for example)
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists

The first three of the Narnia book series have already been made into films:
- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
- Prince Caspian
- Voyage of the Dawn Treader

They were fairly good, I though the last was the best.

All can be found in 1080p HD if you know where to look and aren't "afraid to go there"...

Never saw any of the film adaptations, but the book series was very meaningful to me, as is the 2nd Chapter of Acts' record album, "The Roar of Love," which sets the story of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" to music.

Narnia’s Rich Allegory Would Be Impossible With Meryl Streep As Aslan
The consideration of Meryl Streep for Aslan shows, at best, a misunderstanding of Narnia and, at worst, disdain for what it represents.

Several months ago, Netflix announced it would be producing its own interpretation of the Narnia franchise, set to be directed by Greta Gerwig. Avid fans of the series voiced their suspicions about how the company would interpret the books, beloved for their overtly Christian themes. Sure enough, skeptics had their fears actualized when they learned Meryl Streep is being considered for the role of Aslan.

Netflix’s new Narnia films are expected to be an extension of the existing films’ universe and will reportedly begin with an adaptation of the series’ sixth book, The Magician’s Nephew. It is the chronological start of the Narnia story, making it ripe for a reboot of the otherwise finished film franchise. ...

Aslan’s presence throughout the Narnia series is meant to be profound. By pairing imagination with faithfulness to Scripture, Lewis sought to create an allegory for the Bible that could be easily understood and loved by children and adults alike. Central to the story was Aslan, who serves as a symbol for Christ. He is the tale’s moral backbone, a humble mentor who sacrifices himself to save those he loves. In both the book and movie adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Aslan allows himself to be killed so he may save Edmund, a young boy who betrayed the entire kingdom of Narnia by siding with the evil White Witch. Aslan is the physical embodiment of strength and mercy, two things Hollywood seems to hate. ...

Streep’s casting would substitute Aslan’s distinct masculinity for a softer, feminine version of the character, even if Hollywood attempts to blur the differences with special effects and CGI. But male sacrifice is intrinsically different from female sacrifice because the two sexes have separate, God-given strengths and weaknesses. Aslan laying down his life to save Edmund and the whole of Narnia carries more weight when his innate mightiness is factored in. It represents his willingness to give up his dignity, pride, and greatness to benefit those who have betrayed him. This heart-wrenching moment in the Narnia series helps audiences understand the depths of Christ’s love. By portraying Aslan as a female, Hollywood would fundamentally alter the meaning of this sacrifice.  ...
