Democrat wins Pennsylvania district readily won by Trump in a special election
March 26, 2025 | Kevin Haggerty

Poor turnout provided talking points for the Democratic Party as a Pennsylvania district readily won by President Donald Trump flipped blue in a special election.

As witnessed by appointments to the president’s administration, removing an elected official from their position created a risk. Now, after freshman Pennsylvania Sen. Dave McCormick (R) did the same to appoint a state director, a vacant seat in the state Senate marked a victory for projected winner James Malone and Democrats across the country.

“In a district that went to Trump by 15 in 2024 and has a 23-point Republican voter registration advantage, Malone’s victory is a loud and clear rebuke to Republicans’ threats to the programs Pennsylvania families rely on — from Social Security and Medicaid to our public schools,” expressed Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin in a statement.

He also took to social media to proclaim, “Democrats just SHATTERED a 40-year Republican stronghold in Pennsylvania’s State Senate! In a +15 Trump district, no less! This is a WARNING, Donald Trump–we’re fired up, we’re mobilized, and we’re COMING FOR YOU!”

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

GOP really has nothing to be angry at now, since we basically have all the branches (at least at the very top). Dems will be more fired up for the midterms too... I just hope Trump can turn things around in 4 years and provide basis for a second GOP admin. History is not on our side.

Democrat Upset In PA Special Election Is Not About Trump
Beth Brelje

Democrat political watchers are elated at the stunning special election upset in a Pennsylvania state Senate race in solidly Republican Lancaster County, but their rush to cite Trump-hatred as the cause isn’t based in reality.

Democrat James Malone has won the 36th state senatorial district over Republican Josh Parsons, flipping the longtime Republican seat to Democrat with 482 more votes than Parsons. It was not quite a 1 percent margin.

The win was an incredible feat considering the 36th is a majority Republican district, with 97,834 registered Republicans, 55,243 registered Democrats, and 31,492 voters registered as members of other parties or nonaffiliated, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Some in the propaganda press say the win is evidence of Democrat backlash to having Republican President Donald Trump in the White House, asserting that leftists are rallying to oust Republicans. Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro suggested the same idea on social media.

Apathy, low turn-out, and a not-so-great candidate is why this happened.

And again, why like I said yesterday....   The window Trump has to enact change will likely end January 5, 2027.

Who here remembers "The Rudy Renaissance" in New York?

I do. I was there. For the years before, the years during, and some years after, working into/out of the city on the trains.

Before Rudy, things were terrible and getting worse. Abe Beame, later David Dinkins -- not much more need be said.

Rudy changed all that. From getting the squeegee guys off the streets, agressive policing, better government all around. It WAS "a Renaissance" for New York. It seemed like a different place.

But such fortunes don't last forever. In NYC, it was very much "the man" that set the city on the recovery track. When Rudy left, Bloomberg had the good sense (at least in the beginning) to not upset Giuliani's apple cart.

But when Bloomberg left, and the communist Willhelm Whatever-his-name-was (oh, yeah, "deBlasio") got in, things started backsliding quickly. To where they are today.

I predict the greater course of America will be similar under Mr. Trump. And afterwards.

Yes, there will be, for a time, a "Trump Renaissance" of sorts. Things will likely go considerably better over the next few years as the total chaos of the "biden" administration is cleared away and a semblence of order restored to [much of] the nation.

The power of the leftist/communists is reduced and restrained -- for the moment.
But reports of the dem-communist party's demise are exaggerated.
GREATLY exaggerated.
Believe otherwise at the nation's peril.

With a bit o' luck, we may see J.D. succeed Mr. Trump, hopefully for four years at least. Eight would be better.

So... a possible (polite cough) "American Renaissance" for at least 12 years. Could it last that long?

Sooner or later the pendulum may swing back the other way.
Only time will tell.

In Pennsylvania, are Democrats stealing votes again?
By Joe Fried

Election analyst Seth Keshel recently issued an alarm. Keshel reported on the surprising results of a special election that was held this month in the 36th Pennsylvania State Senate District. It appears likely that Democrats are engaged in wholesale cheating—again!

I say “again” because massive cheating in Pennsylvania took place during the 2020 election. That cheating involved over 100,000 ballots for which there were no registered voters. The subterfuge was analyzed and documented. Significantly, it was never rebutted. Details are available in an article I wrote in September and in an earlier, more detailed account.

The results in the 36th District should be a wake-up call to all voters concerned about election integrity—especially Republican voters. The 36th district, which lies entirely within Lancaster County, had 19% more registered Republicans than Democrats in November 2024, but in the recent special election, the Republican candidate lost by a slim 482 votes.

Keshel reports that according to a volunteer group called “Audit the Vote Pennsylvania,” strange things happened:

Toni Shuppe’s Audit the Vote Pennsylvania organization created the slide above showing the partisan breakdown of mail ballot requests and returns, and the final mail vote counts in favor of Malone and Parsons. Malone wound up with 1,745 more mail votes than Democrats who returned ballots, and even more votes than Democrat ballots sent out. Parsons, the Republican, had 816 fewer mail votes than GOP ballots returns, and 1,904 fewer than mailed out.

You seem to forget it wasn't that long ago, the dimocratic party was hiring Black Panther members to guard polling locations. And I think that was in Philly.

That's not what I said or alluded.  Your bold prediction there Cotton was that cheating did not exist, or was not prevalent during the '20 POTUS election.  And You know better than that.  That was highly documented and discussed real time on this thread in painstaking detail.
