Regardless of temperature, the first thing I do in the morning is open the back patio and front patio doors making a nice cross breeze for at least 15-20 minutes.  Right now, temperature is perfect for keeping both doors open throughout the day.

If I recall correctly, way back in the day they called it sick building syndrome when high rises were made very tight and efficient. Then when they started wrapping homes and putting in double pain windows and sealing every crack and crevice so no outside air migrated in we started seeing it in residential, especially when homes were insulated with spray foam.
