NATO ships to get advanced electronic warfare tech to confuse enemy missiles, drones

A new type of maritime electronic warfare (EW) has been planned to mislead, confuse, or distract enemy weapons and targeting systems. Europe’s NATO countries plan to receive the advanced electronic warfare self-protection suite to protect frigates.

For this, two Israeli firms have been awarded a contract to supply the cutting-edge Naval Decoy Control & Launching System (DCLS) to protect the new Frigates of NATO European countries.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. and Elbit Systems revealed that the maritime EW solution will feature trainable and stabilized launchers, enabling rapid and accurate deployment of decoys.
