Miranda Devine: FBI’s Kash Patel must make good on promise to reform the bureau — or it will be just another hollow sound bite

New FBI Director Kash Patel promised “a complete and total annihilation of the weaponization of justice and the politicization of intelligence” when he spoke at a law and order event at the Department of Justice Friday.

“We have a new FBI, and I’m humbled to be its leader,” he said.

A lot rests on Patel being able to make good on his promise to reform the bureau, and as a former public defender, national security prosecutor and counterterrorism official in the first Trump administration, there is nobody more qualified and clear-eyed about the challenge.

But his promise requires that the injustices of the past inside the FBI are remedied, or they will remain a festering sore.

Among the many honorable agents railroaded by the FBI during Joe Biden’s corrupt presidency is Zach Schoffstall.

The former Idaho senior FBI supervisory agent had his career destroyed after 16 years of exemplary service because he refused to do the political bidding of the Biden administration and sign off on unconstitutional search warrants in a trumped-up domestic-terrorism prosecution.

Nothing new about the FBI.  NOTHING!!!!!!!!

The selection of Kash Patel does not make it a new agency.  Unless this guy purges the FBI by largely terminating anyone and everyone above first line supervision, it is the same ole agency that may have just participated in an assassination attempt.  Yeah, I believe 100% they were involved in Trump's attack in Butler.

So, I am NOT impressed to date with Mr. Patel.  New agency my ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Empty rhetoric!!!!!!!!!

No it's not a new agency but hopefully with some time he'll send many agents packing -- but he also has to put into place some dependable and experienced agents. He has an enormous task in front of him.

Yes, he has a huge effort ahead.  But until I hear the corrupt media whining about all the folks at the FBI he is purging, he is not impressing me.

I no longer give these pukes in government the benefit of the doubt.  I have nothing but doubt until they prove they are worth a wooden nickel.

With the turds that have resided in Washington the last 50 years, no one there impresses me until they impress me.  So far, other than Trump, no one has impressed me other than Karoline Leavitt.  Now she is a firecracker, and perhaps the best Press Secretary I have ever observed.
